Many parents need help, friendship, advice or support during those early years when children are young. Homestart offers support to families who have at least one child under the age of 5. Homestart volunteers, who have parenting experience, provide both emotional and practical help for a couple of hours a week. The main referrers to Home-Start are health visitors and professionals in the social care and early years sectors. Others include GP
