Exeter Community Initiatives

Exeter Community Initiatives is a local charity that helps people facing poverty and homelessness. They run a range of projects designed to give people skills and social support and to help them improve the quality of their life. Transitions: Provide volunteer mentors for people who have been homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless to help them manage domestic problems such as utiltily bills, find employment or support them to become more involved in their community.

Flying Start Children's Centre - Devon

Flying Start is a virtual children's centre. This means that, instead of one building in one location, they provide services across the whole area that they cover. You will find services supported or run by Flying Start in community buildings and open spaces in: St James, St David's, Newtown, St Leonard's and Duryard. We also offer home visits. The Children's Centre aims for healthy, happy, safe children and families who are achieving, who are part of their community and financially secure.

Four Acres Children's Centre - Bristol

This centre offers a wide range of family support groups for parents and children in the area. The groups are a good chance to meet other parents and in the area with similar age children. Also offered are a teenage parents group, support for women in situations of domestic abuse and pregnancy and breast feeding support. There are two ‘play and stay’ sessions per week and a Baby group. All the groups are free of charge and are run by our Early Years staff .

GL11 Community Project - Gloucestershire
