If you have any suggestions on how we can be even more effective in campaigning for the rights of single parents and their children, get in touch with us. We are always looking for volunteers to help us make things better. What we want most are your opinions and your stories. At a time when things are getting tougher for single parents, tell us what you think our next campaigns should be. We have been successful in lobbying MPs around benefits issues, and we have helped many people through our advice service. But we want to do more.

Changes to One Space!

Hi everyone, changes are a-coming!

We want to improve our service and make it more user friendly.One of the areas we will be focussing on is the forums.

We currently have all the messages ever posted going all the way back to my very first one in May 2008! We are going to need to trim them. Other than LIVE threads from this year are there any particular ones that you feel we should keep?

"Here at Single Parent Action Network, One Space's organisation, we have evidence of single parents being sanctioned for their caring responsibilities ie picking up their children from school and even for looking after their child when they are off school sick.

Morning all,

As a moderator I can see all the posts which have been 'unpublished' and there seems to be a lot of them today. I accept that sometimes One Spacers change their minds about what they choose to share on the forums; but if there is a problem with some user accounts this needs to be addressed.

Jus let me know in a comment below & I'll do what I can to sort things out.

To all professionals

Would any professionals using this site like to offer some voluntary time to provide expert advice to single parents?

We already have a group of professionals that provide expert advice around Housing, Money and Debt, Relationships and Parenting, Family Law and CSA. We would like to expand the services we provide but due to restrictions in funding we are looking for agencies or qualified individuals to offer services on a pro bono basis.
