There seems to be little interest for this wedding, just wondered what others thought.
I havent heard of a single street party here, we had one for the Queens Jubilee which was good but not bothering this time.
I do wish the couple well but aside of that it really doesnt seem right to spend all that money on Police etc when all these cuts are happening.
What does everyone else think?
Yes thats about how I feel, I loved Diana and for me the whole Royal thing died with her.
I wont be watching it at all but wont prevent my son from doing so if he wishes, my teen girls remember Diana too and have very similar views to mine.
Yes she would be very proud of both her sons xxx
No street parties here and the neighbours who are the main party-throwers are going to one at her sister's house. Shame cos I love a party!
I will be watching on TV though. Am seriously considering hunting down something tacky, such as a HUGE flag with the couple on it and hanging it on the outside of the house, simply because son would cringe soooooooo much As the parent of a teenager, it may well be my duty to embarrass him.
I so love that idea, I might go and 'borrow' the Union Jack flag from the Scout hut!!
heh heh......
I'll invite my very Welsh friend around... (would I dare??!!!???)
Would you indeed?
She would!!!
I would
She'd hate me, but I know she'd roar with laughter as she would know I'm doing it just for her.
I'm so nice.
I agree tiredmum. Way too much money spent on the whole thing, especially like you say, with the cuts etc, but then again, theres the security side of things. Have heard of a few parties going on, but not in my street, though I do remember the jubilee and a party which was fab. When Charles and Di got married, I watched the whole thing, but this time, I don't know. C is very interested, mainly from school, and CBBC news. He will be watching it, so I guess I'll sit with him for a while during the ceremony, and that'll be it. I think William is fab, and his Mum would be so proud, but I have my views on Di's death and the royal family so.... I do wish the couple lots of luck though.
