Hi lindsaygii
I'm in Stoke Gifford - by Parkway Station in north Bristol. My girls are 9 and 10, so quite a bit older!
Wish I'd known about the single parents fair - it sounds really good. I hope there's another one sometime.
I work from home (in theory) and so school time is about the only time I have to myself. After school is very busy with various activities and I often find myself flat out from 3.30 to 11pm when I collapse exhausted. This seems to make going out / socialising very hard, especially as most of my friends have 9-5 jobs.

Freedom Programme Staring in the Bristol Area.
This is a twelve week programme that looks at the issues of domestic abuse and violence. It is for women who are interested in this topic, especially those that are experiencing abuse or have experienced it in the past. It looks at the different personas of a domintor and helps to recognise them and therefore deal with them.
The programme is starting in the Hillfields/Fishponds area on Wednesday 24th February (Call Vikki on 3534272 to book a place)
The programme is starting in the St Werburghs Area on Thursday 25th February (call Rosie on 9030323 to book a place and a free creche space if needed)
Yoga 4 All
A class for people of all ages and abilities is running in St Werburghs in Bristol on Thursday at 9.45am -10.45.
This is a gentle class that works at a deep level and is based on the yoga philiosophy and techniques of the Inner Yoga Trust.
It is a relaxed and fun session to start off your day with a nice stretch!
Please come along and have a go.

My name is Laura and I work as a Parliamentary Officer at the Single
Parent Action Network (SPAN), which is based in Easton in Bristol.
One of my projects is looking at
what it is like for single parents moving into employment. At our
charity we are worried that some single parents are moving into poor
quality jobs, which offer low pay, insecurity and few prospects. I
am really keen to hear from you if you are a single parent who is
currently unemployed and feels under pressure to take any job or who has
moved into poor quality employment. I am hoping to set up a workshop in April here in Bristol (where I can provide childcare) at the charity to hear about your views, or if you prefer I can arrange to chat online or meet and talk at the charity.
I would really like to hear your views and give you an opportunity to have your say, so leave me a message!
Laura
Hi Lindsaygii
Thanks for that. I think it is great to have some local info on the site so if you know of anything going on in Bristol, please post it up and let people know. Similarly for others to do as well.
Cheers C-L
