Hi, I wondered if anyone has experience of this.
I want to change my name back to my maiden name as soon as possible. I have looked online for advice on how to do this but deed poll stuff seems really confusing, I have no idea how much it will cost or how I'm supposed to go about it.
Has anybody done this recently? Do I have to do it through a solicitor or is there a more "DIY" method? Is it expensive?
Oh my goodness! I had no idea it was that easy! I am terrible at googling haha. Thank you soooo much :) :) :)
I just did it. I filled it in and paid and it's coming in the post. I'm almost trembling with joy knowing that I'm going to have my name back!!! Thank you so so much :) :) :)
yeeee, good for you, so happy for you
Perfect thread for me...
After lots of talking about things I sort of decided to get a passport. So I've sent for a copy of my marriage cert. Then I figured if I was going to do this, then time to change my name. It was something I was always going to do once the children were older.
I had thought of changing to my Mum's maiden name - two of my children have it as their middle name, but yesterday decided to go back to being a Jones...
So thank you :-)
Fantastic Sparkling! :) x
Oh thats great news sparkling, congratulations!!
My deed poll documents came through in the post today, I signed them with my best friend, I am now officially ME again!!!
The only thing that will top this feeling is when the decree absolute drops through my letterbox. :)

Ahhh Anna thanks so much! Whee! :D
You can just use your decree absolute, but if you are just seperated, type in google:
" reverting to a maiden name prior to divorce being finalised" and there it is explained, you can fill in the application form online by clicking on it. First Deed Poll ordered it says adult £ 19 and child £ 34 Royal Mail special delivery £ 10
