I cant be the only one?!
Just been on the phone with my mate and yet again got some stick about a bizarre crush I have had since I was 19 (31 now). I dont know what it is about this man but I just couldnt say no. He is the absolute opposite of my normal type (I like big, rough bad boy types) but there is just something appealing about.... Tony Blair
I know there must be others out there with an unusual crush so please reveal and spare me my embarrassment... but hands off my Tony!
Well I expect there are lots of us with different crushes.....I always used to fancy Matthew Corbett on Sooty
Can let you off if it was when you were 6 lol I was in love with Rick Astley when I was 6. Mathew Corbett?! Interesting!
Its funny how you can just get drawn to someone who is completely not your normal type, or anyone elses in some cases lol
No I was not six, the boy were small and I was 40!
I used to love Rick Astley - but I was in my 20s by then! Jill and I would bop away to his songs
As for Tony Blaire, he's all yours....
Omg I know this won't go down well but....... My secret crush is......
David Cameron!
Don't know which one is worse, Tony or David? Boris Johnson anyone? Nick Clegg? Red Ken????
This is really funny to read, keep them coming!
Actually, I've thought about it - go after David; maybe it will stop him from cutting benefits....
Ahha you have drawn me in - I had a secret crush on......................miss piggy
Miss Piggy!!!, I am laughing so much at this thread!
My secret girl crushes are Beyonce and Vicky McClure, the actress who played "Lol" in This Is England!..... Gorgeous!
David Cameron? Now I feel better.
Miss piggy lol me an my friend used to have crushes on Zig and Zag from the Big Breakfast. Mine was Zag - he was one hot little puppet
Ahhh, ChaCha, I loved Lol too
And another secret crush, on Ivan Ooze, the baddie in Power Rangers (again when I was 40 )
Ahhh, Lol, she is gorgeous!
What about Patrick Duffy - Bobby Ewing!
Ooh Bobby Ewing...better than JR but I always preferred Cliff Barnes
I asked my friend about his crazy crush and he said Dana (do you remember the Irish lady who was in Eurovision) This reminded me that years later there was Dana International, thought to be a man originally? with what I thought was a great record..here
Ok, if you're not a child of the late '60s or before then this will mean nothing to you, but when I was about 4, I used t watch a tv programme that had a character in it called Casey Jones - who drove a steam train through what I recall being the wild west (though that doesnt make much sense so it could be a totally flakey false memory!) Anyway, he would be my first (and probably weirdest!) crush. To the extent that when I started playschool they asked me my name (no forms signed in triplicate back in those days) and I said Casey Jones (who was a middle aged man in the programme!) and they beleived me! And I was called Casey for the first week at least! :o) x
Hello Casey HAHAHAHA. yes I remember him, with The Cannonball Express, I liked the title sequence best...here
Talking of false names, there is a shopkeeper called Dilys Price in Fireman Sam and when my niece started ballet, she told the teacher she was called Dilys Price and that was what she was called for weeks!
Hi, I'm new to the site, so just picked up this thread. My first crush was Dana off of the 70s - "All kinds of everything". As a 9yo boy I would get up early on a sunday morning to watch some religious programme she did. Very out of character for me to watch that kind of stuff, but I was spellbound.
aha englebert! My friend always loved Dana (although he was a tad older than 9 when she was popular) and he went along to the pantomime for the first and only time...because she was in it and he could ogle her. Sadly the rest of the show was so dull that he fell asleep
Any more condessions from anyone?
Louise - are 'condessions' similar to confessions?
If so then yes, lots...we could make a start with Robbie Coltrane if you like!
HAHA Mary, I was going cross-eyed with ogling
By the way, girl-crush Lol (Vicky McLure) is in that new police corruption drama "Line of Duty"
Which I am LOVING! Other crushes include (this one not so much of a 'guilty' pleasure..) Christopher Ecclestone
I am with you Mary! I like Christopher Ecclestone.
Yes, so do I and yet really he is quite scrawny and wrinkly Did you see the thing the other night where he was a recovering alcoholic?
I always feel as if I "should" fancy David Tennant but I can't quite manage it. However, I do like Adrian Edmondson, from his "Young Ones" days, to his current gentle pottering in the Dales and Shires programmes.
OMG ! I can't believe you guys ! I'm laughing so much I have to stop reading these... Man! I'm gonna stop reading and get back to those horrid assignments and give myself a treat - come back to this thread when I'm done with a bottle of Pimms for a good ol' laugh.
David Cameron ?! Quick get the Doctor! Though Bobby Ewing was quite cute..bet he's not now? Is he still alive even? Hahahaha
Now then, The Phoenix, you haven't confessed who is YOUR crazy crush??
I was cracking up reading this thread....you are so funny hahahaha. I notice many of you like a man of power lol
Oh don't you worry Louise....you'll get your laugh yet...I'll be back...with the Pimms in hand and my hair down...soon. Crazy crushes...hhmmm.
Will hold you to that, The Phoenix
Oh I have thought of one more....you know when celebrities do those dances for Comic Relief? in the latest one there were two Eastenders girls and Tony Blackburn/David Hamilton....well (finally gets to the point) the first one of those competitions was won by Robert Webb of Mitchell and Webb fame dancing to Flashdance, What a Feeling, whilst wearing a very effeminate leotard and to my shame, I was rather taken with the whole scenario
HAhahaha...yes can't help agreeing with you! I was too ! Hehehe...Flashdance...that was great !!
Phew, glad I am not the only one!!
I have decided, seeing that Johnny Depp is back on the market.....
Good call, Hopeful
Donny Osmond was my secret crush...I know, that was sad. But I was much much younger then...
If I can get my hands on the Pimms, I might tell more..haha
Oh but the one I really like the look of was Rob Andrew who kicked that last drop goal and won for England against Australia in...1998 (?)
For you who follow a bit of the sport, He was the dish-iest of the entire lot ! And I'm serious. Don't need no Pimms here..
Donny, eh ThePhoenix? My girlhood crushes included Shakin' Stevens (!!!), Adam Ant, Marc Almond & Boy George. Did you notice a theme emerge towards the end there? I still like hanging out with 'safe' boys these days. One of my gay bezzies is throwing an '80's themed fancy dress party next month - I can't wait!
Have you finished those assignments yet? & surely it's a bit early in the morning for Pimms anyway....
(P.s. Have no idea who Rob Andrew is, I'll have to Google him later )
Haha ...I have some really good friends of the same the 8os themed fancy dress sounds fun. What's your costume then?
Yes! Finished.! Hence the Pimms...but yeah, later..
Rob Andrew is/was the....aahh.you'll have to google. Have YOU noticed the trend of my preferences..haha. BUT not David Cameron though !
Bobby Ewing, Donny Osmond, Rob Andrew...all Mormons?! Or are they all dark haired? Will have to go & Google...
I'm going as Cyndi Lauper
Lots of confessions on here! good stuff
I would like to add the guy from the film The Labrynth - cant remember his name (but I only liked his character in the film).
Your quite right David Cameron is wrong - but Tony Blair is soooo right!!!
Ew, littleangel - you are SO on your own with Tony Blair (but then you'd like that )
Do you mean David Bowie from Labyrinth?!
I had to share this, as it is not very often I ogle men on the big screen, but this man was delicious and so humble on Spartacus, that i developed a crush!
Anyway I had read somewhere that he wasn't well, but only just found out that he actually passed away last September.
He was divine, RIP Andy Whitfield.
I thought crazy crushes meant a crush so big it drove you crazy, not literally crazy, I mean David Cameron?!!! WTF?!!
I'm starting to think that my complete and utter undying devotion to Steve Backshall is actually really normal! I'm so in love with him it's kinda insane, my son refuses to watch Deadly 60 anymore, cos I spend the whole thing completely goggle eyed over him, and he says it's gross!!
Nat
haha!
Does anyone remember Michael Kitchen from Foyle's War?
Well, I was with my friend the other day and she always drools over Neil Oliver (of Coast fame) and I said to her Neil Oliver is far too sensible a crush, you should have a crazy Crush like we have on our One Space website. She thought for a minute and said "well then, mine is Michael Kitchen IN A HAT"
Why in a hat????????
Have just looked back: Bobby Ewing is really Patrick something I think. And talking of Rob Andrew reminded my that I used to like Jeremy Guscott (you've got to love the rugby guys) until I saw an interview and he talked. That put an end to that one. David Bowie is on my list of people I'd really like to meet though. And when I was about 16 I absolutely loved Michael Praed as Robin Hood. Aww those were the days. Adam Ant was on that list, too, but I gather he's a bit of a liability nowadays. :-P
Oooh Adam Ant! I lurved him too! And Patrick Duffy (Bobby Ewing Hopeful!) and Michael Praed - now he's a blast from the past!
Louise I have just seen that on the cover of the DVD of Foyles War, Michael Kitchen is wearing a hat, maybe she is not keen on his hairstyle?!
What about Chachi from Happy Days, he was dreamy!
Ellen Degeneres
Ellen is so clever, I really admire her.
Anna, yes Michael Kitchen does have rather crinkly hair, haha. I remeber Chachi from Happy Days, I had a boyfriend who used to love The Fonz and he always did that thing of looking in the mirror to do his hair then seeing perfection and deciding not to bother (NOT a long relationship there )
....ooh and Paul Rankin the Irish chef, gorgeous! (AND he would cook the tea!)
I admire your bravery for 'coming out'.
No competition from me, Tony Blair doesn't do it for me at all! Trying to think really hard, but can't think of anyone I have a proper crush on - there are a few that are alright-ish, but none irresistible.
Having said that, When I was six I had a major crush on Mark Spitz - had a picture of him above my bed with all seven gold medals!
