Does anyone know if there's anything you can do if your ex after being reassessed by the CSA has the amount go up from £0.00 to £59.39 a week only to find out a month later that he claims to be unemployed and the amount goes back down to £0.00????
CSA say that there's nothing that they can do unless I can prove otherwise!!! This is rather unrealistic as I don't know where he is and haven't done for over 11 years!!! Surely it is their job to investigate, and not mine???? I would love to be able to live off thin air as my ex apparently does!!!!!
Hi MagicalMum
I have spoken to Jean (our CSA expert), she would like you to write to her via Ask the Expert, as she is our Secret Weapon! She has spent over 20 years helping the parent with the children to try and readdress the balance of power.
She is happy to share general stuff publicly, but feels she could help you far better privately, she doesn't want to give away information that other people might use against the parent with care.
She says don't waste her talent, she is waiting to hear from you!!
Send her an enquiry now go to CSA Expert
Thank you- I have sent her a message!!!
Good luck, I hope you get a positive response.
Hi MagicalMum unfortunately you are not alone in this scenario.
I have alerted our CSA guru Jean to this thread and she may well answer here, if not go to CSA Expert and ask her the question as I'm afraid I don't know the answer.
I think the CSA are right there is nothing that they can do, but Jean might have some tricks up her sleeve!
It is so frustrating that you have to be the one to prove that he is earning money isn't it. I remember a similar situation myself. My ex was ordered by the court to pay me some money (for criminal damage) he didn't pay up so I contacted the courts and they said if I wanted it I had to take him to civil court? Eh? You were the ones that said he had to pay it, why do I have to now take it on board. I feel this situation is replicate of that.
It is his legal responsibility to pay child maintenance, so it shouldn't be you that has to chase, especially as you have no idea where he is, but unfortunately I dont know that there is much you can do.
Let us know how it goes.
