help my ex wife remarried and applied for him to adopt our 2 kids which i said no to ! i have since discovered she has change there name via a deed poll agency ( there are loads ) i had parental responsability coz we where married so i dont think she could legally do this ! help has anyone any ideas i am my new partners carer so funds r limited would i be entitled to legal aid ! i havent seen the kids for a couple of years as she is crazy and keeps moving !

thanks guys not been on here since i posted so was suprised to see replies many thanks ! yes the childrens old school confirmed they where presented with a legal document confirming name change ! i dont want them to have there stepdads surname as i feel thats wrong im a stepdad now and wouldnt want her to have mine name ! its always been one fight or another with my ex thats why is i stopped contact because she used to quiz the kids so much then ring me and complain about me doing my house up etc ! wanted £ 300 ontop of £150 a month for 2 kids school uniform ! p*ss taker then started trying to bargain money with contact !

right from all info available it seems she shouldnt have been able to change there surname but probably she has told some lies ! and even forged my signature i expect have been trying to get a copy of the letter from the school to no avail to find out what agency she used need to find out if im entitled to legal aid for it !
It does seem from that link that she wouldn't be able to change the children's name without your permission, so if she has indeed changed them, then it is illegal. As you have PR, there shouldn't be any problem for you getting the letter from the school. Have they given a reason why they cannot/haven't sent it? I'm not sure on the legal aid stuff though. Good luck with it all.
