i have applied for one job in wh smiths which is four hours a week but i dont know if i get it and i was looking for some cleaning jobs too but theres no jobs as a cleaning in someones house or anything like this ,dont know how to find it
Hi majorka
You could look on Gumtree or in your local newspaper for cleaning jobs. Look in the Post office at their noticeboard or the local supermarket or newsagent, sometimes private homeowners advertise there.
Good luck, let us know what you find.
You could also place a postcard in your local Post Office window advertising yourself as a cleaner for private homes. You would need a couple of references, from people who know you to be reliable and trustworthy, to show to anyone who wanted to employ you. You could think about including doing shopping errands as part of the service you would give people.
Hi i just joined 2 mins ago.I think you have to work more than 16 hrs now for working tax credit , i think the law changed and the hours were put up. However it doesn't matter if you don't work the amount of hours to get working tax credit as the weeks you work below you will receive child tax credit. If you explain to them you will receive child tax credit . The best way to go about it to begin with explain the situation receive child tax credit instead and once a year when you sent your hours off to them you can inform them the weeks you worked enough hours to earn working tax credit they will pay you the extra for those weeks for working tax credit.I receive tax credit and inform them when i work extra hours and they pay me then extra for those weeks working tax credit. Ok its less but no one can travel all those hours and you may find that you do get the extra hours more often than not. If not you may find another part time job to add to the hours. However you have to take that chance and as your in work it will be easier to get employed if you want to get an extra job. However don't do it the other way around and receive W T Credit then inform them you didn't work the hrs as you will owe them then and you may not have the money. Good Luck in your new job!
i will try to call them and ask but i work sixteen hours a week and i was receiving it .they know my hours and never said that i need to work more .do i still qualify for help with child care cost if i work less than that?any one knows ?
Hi majorka, did you contact our Benefits expert as Louise suggested above, they would be able to answer that question.
Sorry i thought it had changed they told me in the jobcentre a couple of years ago it the hours were going up to more than 16.I just did a google search on how many hours you have to work for working tax credit and it states 16 so it couldn't have changed.
test
hi i did contact the expert few days ago but still no replay ;/
Ok it takes a few days for the expert to reply as they have a lot of queries and work through them in order.
The number of hours needed for WTC is still 16, the change in hours is for couples, NOT for single parents. The childcare help also goes with that hours threshold, majorka. It's not the first time the job centre has told someone the wrong information, Julia Cardiff. Welcome along to you, by the way
Thank You for Welcoming me. I think it was when the goverment were making changes or thinking of making changes it probably didn't go ahead maybe they changed their mind or the lady in the jobcentre got it wrong as said.
I put clothes and hair and glasses on but i don't know how to transfer it to this site thats why my cartoon picture looks bare. I will have to find out how to do it.
I sorted your clothes out Julia!!
It is pretty difficult to keep on top of all the changes to entitlements isn't it, however our expert is up to speed so don't hesitate to use her!
Hi Anna,
Wow, Thank You , you clever lady,
Julia.
you look better with ur clothes anna still no answer from the expert and i am so stressed now thinking i will change job and not be able to survive untill i fifnd a job and its not easy to find it quick
Majorka,
You'll be fine don't worry start your new job and it will all come together. You can't spend all that time travelling. You'll be o.k. just go for it you wont look back,
Julia.
Hopefully you will get a reply after the weekend, majorka, what day did you send the email?
thank you ladies .i sent it on 24th .i hope i will get more info soon .i just think this law is so unfair for people who wat to work and who tries .it shuld be bit easier for a single parents who are really willing to do something but it looks that those who just sit at home and claim benefits and dont do anything and dont worry about it are doing better ;/ thank you for your help anyway and i will be still waiting for an answer from the expert
I agree things are not made easy for us!
Ok so you sent the email on Wednesday. The expert does not work weekends so watch your Inbox on Tuesday-ish!
still no information from the expert and i have sent it on 22th last month ..;/
Hi marjoka, I have looked into where your Ask the Expert message is.
You messaged the Benefits expert on 22nd July and they responded via email to you on Weds 24th July.
Check your inbox and perhaps your junk mail too.
Hello majorka, that is indeed a dilemma.
You definitely need the transfer and so staying where you are is not a good idea by the sounds of it.
First of all, check the position with our Benefits Expert (click) as to the rules about hours. It may be that 16 hours has to be the "normal" working week and that an occasional variation would be ok
IF this is the case (and you need to check with the Expert) what do you think about taking a small cleaning job for a couple of hours a week just to boost your hours? in someone's home I mean so it was flexible as to when you went. You would have to tell the Working Tax people and include the earnings in any calculations when you fill in the forms. But see what the expert says first.
