Hello freedomahfreedom

You are very welcome here. Yes, you can indeed do the Freedom programme online, all you need to do is to click here to see it.

Well done on getting out of an abusive relationship and I am sorry to hear that you have kept having to move. How do your son's disability affect him? have you managd to make new friends since moving?

Hi freedomahfreedom

Welcome to One Space, good luck with the Freedom Programme online.

I understand that you are concerned about leaving your baby whilst he is so young, however hopefully you will grow in confidence and trust and see that he will be fine, as doing this course with other women who have survived abuse can be so beneficial.

Would the face to face group provide a creche? If so would it be possible to ask to meet the workers?

hi

he is almost 14 but mentally is between 4 to 6 year reading level 5 yrs best way to discribe him is like an Autisic child but more complicated

it is full on even more so when he is fixated on things which is every day lol but that is him  and wouldnt change him for the world

and no not really made any friends sorry to say lost trust in everyone now and there is nothing here for a family with a disabled child so everything we and he had for support is all gone were on our own

but alive

I was told he HAD TO GO to the creche i wasnt asked nothing and the last lot of TRAINED people who so called looked after my children abused them and broke thier bones so NO i dont trust any one sorry and my baby is still breast fed on demand so cant leave him not that i would

he and my other two boys are all that is important and keeping them safe will never trust anyone with them ever again

Hello freedomahfreedom

Yes I am not surprised that you feel loath to trust anyone but I do hope that in time this will get better. It would be sad to go through the whole of your life with that level of anxiety.

Luckily there are lots of things you can do online, like the Freedom Programme as we have mentioned. You can also access some support around your son's disability, although I have to say that finding a site for families about MCDD in English has been difficult and the only one I found was very formal and more about research than support, so do you think an organisation such as the Autism Society would be helpful, even though not specific to your son's conditions.

Are you in touch with your local Children's Centre? You could go to things and meet other parents with your baby, or your Health Visitor would know of other groups in the area. It's important to make friends and this would help you start to repair your feelings of mistrust.

hi

My family cant get help from the Autism Society as he has MCDD ( multi complex developmental delay) in normal terms he has everything so for that reason he cant get help from just one cos that will lock the doors to the others

alot of so called SPECIALIST mis diagnos MCDD with PDD-NOS which happened to us and is a lesser disabiltiy

i had to fight for years to get where we are now the problem we have is SHROPSHIRE is NOT geared up for families with disabilities and companies are the same too

where we were living Hampshire companies council and support groups are over welming and every where we had a massive network of friend and places to go without OMG WHATS WRONG WITH THAT CHILD attitudes

basically it is the area we are in now which has left us with NOTHING and no where to go due to lack of the right support groups for MCDD type disabilities

Even young carers is only once a month here my 12 year old was going every week in Hampshire with outings and other events happening all the time

so as you can see SHROPSHIRE is not with the times and day and age YET sad state of affairs really as my son with disabilites he a bleak out look for his future here with no prospects of anything but shelve stacking or litter picking WHICH DISCUSTS ME AS HE IS A PERSON ABLE TO DO ALOT MORE IF HE IS GIVEN THE CHANCE

How dreadful to feel that there is so little support and no-one cares. This may sound like a really silly question but is it possible to move somewhere better for your boy?

You could also email our Local Services expert and see if there is anything else in your area

Also what support can we give you on these boards?
