I am J I have 2 sons, one coming up 25 the other just turned 16, we live in Birmingham and have done for the last 6 years..... after 14 years have just been notified that my 16 year old's father is going to be starting to pay maintenance... is there anyway that I can contact him through csa to give him my details... so that if he chooses to have some contact with his son then he can......
High Sparklinglime I will give it a go and just hope I don't end up talking to a jobs worth....lol....It would be nice for my son I think to get to know him.... he wasn't a bad person, just easily led......and he had 3 kids in his care before I had J..... god only knows how many half brothers and maybe sisters he has got now lol.........
Hi mirrorlady2
Welcome to One Space. You could ask the CSA but there is no guarantee they will comply, do hope that your boy and his dad can be in touch, though. I wonder why he is suddenly going to pay maintenance?
Thank you can only think that he has not been working all these years, and he was given custody of 3 boys from another mother ......so who knows.....
Hi mirrorlady2, welcome to One Space from me! That is very interesting, presumably you hadn't contacted the CSA?
How did you hear that you were to receive maintenance. Do you have contact with anyone that knows him?
We have a CSA expert here on One Space, do feel free to ask her a question
Actually the CSA had his details from when J was a baby and it's only now that they have contacted me to say he is going to start paying, though still waiting for that first payment.... no unfortunately, I don't know anyone that knows him..... I have tried searching facebook and google for his name on anything and can't find anything...
He cut contact with us when he got involved with a woman who didn't like him having contact with us, until that point he had been phoning everyday and talking to J.
J has been asking questions about his father and I think it would be good for him to have that contact if his father wants it...... the problem is getting hold of him to see if he would like to have contact with his son......
Any ideas greatly received.........
Well, see what the CSA people say to start with. You might just get lucky. If there is no possibility then the first thing to do is to find what town he is in. Once you get this, you can do a search on the local Electoral Register (although not everyone shows in the public records) and the local telephone directory. Failing this, once you know the town or area you could put an ad in that local paper. Of course. a private detective can usually find a person but this is very expensive.
Thank you I will start with the CSA...... he is from Bognor Regis, but I know that he was planning on leaving there back when J was a toddler...... so really he could be anywhere......... but i will take your advice and check the electoral registers..... etc.......
Hi mirrorlady2
I'm sure they wouldn't pass on information due to Data Protection. Perhaps you can let the CSA know that should he ask to have details passed on that it would be ok? It could be if he's started to pay maintenance after all these years that he may well be seeking contact?
