Hi mark, you might also find it useful to talk with ACE (Advisory Centre of Education), they have a General advice line: 0808 800 5793
You might also be interested in getting your daughter involved with Platform51, they support girls and women take control of their lives. it may be a useful resource.
You might also want to speak with Young Minds, who provides a telephone helpline service to parents and carers in the UK who have a concern about their child's emotional problems or behaviour. If you're a worried parent, call the YoungMinds Parents Helpline on 0808 802 5544. Opening hours are 9.30am-4pm Monday to Friday
Hi Mark
I home educated my daughter for approx 2 years between ages of 5 & 7. It was quite daunting to begin with, but I had support from my local home education group and from the education otherwise organisation. She is now in her teens and has been in school since age of 7, but there have been times when she has suffered bullying and I have considered taking her out again but I am not sure how I would cope at that level of schooling or financially/time wise because although home education is legal there are no grants or financial help available.
There are local home education groups all over the country. If I can find up to date links I will try to post them
Hi Mark
How old is your daughter?
if you were going to home school her you would have to think about the financial side of things. Income support is not automatically paid to lone parents once their youngest child reaches seven.
Anyway here is a site where you can look at some information about home schooling, it has links to other sites as well. Hope this helps.
