Hi all

So many people have introduced themselves that I thought it would be nice to share our stories, how we ended up being a single mum or single dad. :D

For many years the media and society have stereotyped us and portrayed us as low life's who get pregnant with any tom, dick or harry just so we can get a council flat and don't have to work anymore. :o

Hi, I've just registered on one space and just wanted to introduce myself but also wondered if anyone has a similar situation as I feel alone at times dealing with this. I have two sons aged 10 and 8. Their Dad and I have seperated for nearly two years but he is still living in my flat. When I said I didn't want a physical relationship he flipped from being a fairly reasonable person - although a controlling passive aggressive kind of person - to a nasty, bitter, angry verbally abusive character.

Hi,

I don't know why I'm here. But I got away from him last July. I was finally happy this August, working, happy, finally had new friends, felt strong for the first time. And the past month I've been isolating myself again after finally looking at my scars from him that I've never been able to look at.

Sorry for going on but I feel lost

hi. I have never done anything like this before but i hope that it will be a way of speaking to others who may be a similar situation to me. With out going into too much detail as its too painful heres My story: Weds July 2nd began as a normal morning. Rushing about getting ready for school and work. Kissed goodbye to my partner at 8.30 and off we all went. By 11.00 I was in A&E being told my life was changed forever. He had gone to work, collapsed and died. All within 2 hours of our goodbye. 30 years together and 2 children. I now find i am alone parent with a scarey world ahead.

I am a single father of 2 kids (girl 9 and boy 7). I've been a single father for 6 years. I solely had parental responsibility rights until I have been arrested in 2013. I have not commited any offence. I have not been charged. I am sharing my parental responsibility rights with the authority ever since. However my children have been placed in temporary foster care and I have been by law prevented from having any contact with them. My IDs and my things have been detained.

Hi, I am new to this site.. I am 41 and single with no children and am worried I am running out of time to meet the right person and start a family so am considering having one baby on my own, probably through Artificial Insemmination. I am feeling very nervous and anxious about this decision though and worried if I will cope with a baby on my own.. Can anyone give any advice?

Hi, I have just told my husband that I want to separate and he's not happy but it's going ahead. Our 4 children aged 16,14,10 and 4 are ok with it and our son (16) will live with hubby whilst I have the 3 girls. We have no money saved so am finding it very difficult to move out. We are currently in a council house but neither of us can afford the deposit for a rental property. What can I do? xxx
