A single mummy friend and I have recently started speaking about doing a house share together; we really enjoyed our holiday together last week, and our girls loved it too.
How have other single parents went about doing a house share, how many of the parents were claiming housing benefits, and has anyone found that it helped more by having at least one parent working at least part time?

I think that a house share is a fabulous idea, sharing costs, childcare, cooking etc, however I never had the guts to do it when my daughter was younger.
Over in Local Info quite a few people have been advertising houseshares, it might be worth posting on their threads to see if they have any insights, I remember one person said that they had done it before.
I am not sure about the benefits side of things, but you could ask our Benefits expert.
I would be interested to hear how it goes :)
