MTV are making a brand new documentary series that follows new teenage Dads and the challenges they face when it comes to fatherhood. I want to speak to young Dads or Mums aged 20 or younger or Grandparents who would like to talk about their experiences and be part of this major new series. This is very true - but we feel that the Dads can often be overlooked / misrepresented.
There are a number of series about teenage mums
ie. Underage & Having Sex / 16 & Pregnant / Teen Mum...
This series is from a different angles about these young fathers and we want to teach them how to be better Dads.
Please don't apologise for commenting - I am interested in all feedback.
Many Thanks
Sophie
Hello Sophie
There was a programme on recently (possible Panorama?) about fatherhood and it partly bore out what I know from ten years experience of working with separated parents: that the dad is often excluded, not only by the mother's family but also by the statutory services...and it often feels easier just to walk away.
Sorry to comment, but you get Dad's who have to put up with similar disinterest from the mother of their child...
