Hi all, can anyone tell me if there's such a thing as a childminder who sleeps over at your house. Im going to be single very soon and I work night shift 3 nights a week. I dont want to give up work as I love it but am stuck between a rock and hard place. Please help. x

Hi tracy71. I'm unsure of this, all I can tell you is, many moons ago, I used to be childminder, and went to their houses. Over time, I used to stay the night on some occassions. I don't know if this will help in anyway, but  here  is a link about childcare. Hopefully others will be on here later, and maybe able to help you. Good luck. xx

When I used a childminder (a long time ago...) she would have the children at her house overnight, but only rarely. Maybe some would do this on a regular basis?

I am wondering if you had enough room to get a lodger in, that could also babysit as part of the deal? Or perhaps you could consider a student who lives at home, they might want to earn some extra cash? Of course you would have to vet them, get references and have strict rules Smile

What have you done in the past overnight? What job do you do?

as far as i know, childminding services finish at aroun 5-5.30pm. i know this as im looking for childcare for evenings and its really difficult! i always thought they came to your house too but now its taking your child to their property! i think what u mean is like a nanny, where they would come to your house and maybe they can do unsociable hours
