So I have never forgiven my mum for passing me her fear of heights and phobia of all animals smaller than a cat - watching my mum scream and run round the house when I was small coz she saw a mouse has left me with a terrifying fear of all rodents. I made a vow that I wouldnt pass such a phobia on to my daughter, 8 years on and I succeeded - until now....
Luckily I braved a few heights as calm as possible in my daughters presence, and I have been able to look at a rat in a cage without freaking for my daughters benefit. But while dropping my daughter to Brownies before I was about to get out of the car and there it was.... a Frog!!!! After an ear peircing scream I quickly shut my car door. The noise must have startled the frog because it started jumping about arghhhhhh! panic!!!!
Ten minutes later and Brownies leader comes out to see why we just sat in the car and I am like I cant get out theres a frog jumping about (oh the shame) I am certain the leader wanting to laugh at me because I refused to even open the window more than in inch as I passed her the fee for my daughters session and then she had to come round to the passenger side and pick my daughter out of the car and carry her in as my daughter was too scared to walk on the floor.
Oh dear Me...0 Phobia....1
Wish me luck for picking her up from Brownies at 8pm - eek!
oh you cant do that, now i NEED to know
teehee, you will all be really surprised...it is CATS
I hate cats! lol not so much a phobia but I dont trust them. They are sneaky and too quiet for my liking. I got a kitten for my little girl but it ran away after 5 months, I was so happy because I just got freaked out by it climbing up near my head while im on the sofa, and its freaky eyes at night - eurgh! Cats are not for me.
Phew that makes me feel a bit better! I know so many people adore their cats and once a neighbour's young cat got stuck in my garden and they asked me to pick it up and hand it to them and I said I am sorry, I can't, it would be like picking up a poisonous snake, they looked at me as if I was a freak. But I know a lot of people have a fear of spiders and I do not think they are strange for that, although I have no fear of spiders myself and will happily pick one up
I am absolutely terrified of thunder. The children had no idea until 2010, when eldest ran home from town as he could hear a storm.
I'm fine with the lightening (mad, I know), so could always prepare myself for the rumble. I used to scream when there was that horrid crack overhead. I don't anymore, so the children have worked wonders.
I don't like spiders either, but can catch them - or could - with a glass and card. Now I have wonky legs, not so easy. Luckily the 16 year old likes catching them.
Spiders and all creepy crawlies are fine with me. Its just little fluffy things and frogs lol My boyf came in the other day panicking saying get my phone out of my pocket pleaaaaasssseeee there is a slug in there lol I thought it was hilarious this big built 6" 2' heavy built man scared of a slug. He is no better with rodents either if we see a mouse he jumps over me to get away

sorry folks - couldn't help it!
Bloody frogs on my ave - two of them!!!!!
Stupid neighbour built a pond now am gonna see them all the time - help!
Oh yuk, little angel, that's not good news!
Hamsters, frogs, spiders, and not really a lover of cats either.
Hamster lasted from the Tuesday until the Friday in here the other week. I could look at it through the cage when it was huddled up in a ball, but as soon as the ruddy thing moved........ I'm sure C's was a rat!!!
I remember sitting trapped in my garden when C was about 4 or 5. I'd tidied the garden and was just about to head indoors, when I saw this awful slimey thing sitting, staring at me, blocking my way, ready to pounce. I was glued to the spot, absolutely petrified, YUK.
The Scouts came across a very sweet looking toad on their walk this evening
Sweet? SWEET?
Toads can NOT be sweet!!!! Eurgh! (shivers)
Sparkling is deluded
They're sweet!
So are hamsters....
So wat do you think isnt sweet?!
I still can't go on a park see-saw every since I was about 7 years old. My older sister use to bump me so hard to make my butt go flying up in the air :(
Bless Tinkerbell
I had an unfortunate incident when I was in nursery and the other children felt it would be hilarious to put the lid on the sand pit while I was in it - it was a good 30 mins before teachers found me (although I dont think they were even looking tbh). I can still taste the sand in my mouth and nose and cant stand being lay down in a confined space
Oh no that's horrible :O
Yes, good luck! But you have done wonders not to pass on those other things!
A very good friend of mine is absolutely horrified by frogs. Phobias are generally not logical. I dare not tell you about MY phobia, you would think I was very silly.....
