Wasn't sure where to put this sorry Smile

With regards to the poll, I've ticked the go without heating box - even though I don't smoke or drink or entertainment...  I've never smoked but have not been able to justify the costs of the others...

Hi sparklinglime

I hope you don't mind that I moved this into 'General Interest"

Great idea to start a topic of discussion on the Poll!

Unfortunately we cant have a multiple choice on this poll, as I think generally when we have little money we have to sacrifice more than one thing.

So you have chosen to not turn the heating on in the past. I chose clothes. When we were small my mum was always saying 'well put another jumper on' if I said I was cold and even now she worries about whether it is 'too early' in the year to put the heating on. I think because of this I put the heating on as and when I need it!

It is interesting to hear people's reasoning behind their answers, so if other people havent done the poll - Do it now! (click)

Ah - so for the poll - and maybe this would be a different thread?

Money priorities are:

Rent & Food

Heating

Fuel for Car

Clothes if absolutely necessary

Entertainment (although this is more socialising which doesn't have to cost money)

And very rarely do I have Alcohol and never cigarettes.

I said entertainment as I don't smoke and very rarely buy alcohol. I love going to London to see my mates band but obviously with train fare and somewhere to stay its an expensive night out so don't do it all tht often but it goes completely when monies tight.

Thanks zippy, your London trips sound good! I don't know where you usually stay when you go up there, perhaps a hostel or maybe hotel, but do you know airbnb? It has incredibly cheap prices, I am a regular user and love it!

Anna, this is fab! I didn't know this existed!!!! I might try this next time I go to see a show rather than running for the train! :-)

hi Anna no I'd not heard of it but to be honest I tend to use travelodge as they are fairly cheap. Don't go if it costs too much

Its great isnt it Hopeful, I have rented both a private apartment all to myself which is great, but also if you stay in a single room, the host is often very hospitable and will show you around ie when I went to Italy to see my daughter, the host was fab, I got to feel the real sicily!

zippy there are rooms from £13 a night, you can't beat that eh?!

No Anna I guess you can't but I think I'll stick to what I know for now at least. I'm always very cautious of trying new things and having had a look and seen quite a bit of feedback saying host cancelled with less than 48hrs notice I'm not sure is want to risk it
