Why can I sometimes edit my post and other times this option is removed immediately after posting?

Hi IDT, i'm not sure about the editing options will have to get Anna to look into it, as for your posts being edited as moderators we sometimes breakup large amounts of text so it can be easier for other users to read or it could be editing inappropriate language, i hope that answers question.
That's strange as I split mine and I go back and it's been put together in one big text and I think oh that's hard to read! Er well maybe I'm taking up to much space I can talk
Not sure whats happening there then IDT there could be a glitch i will message our techy people to see if they can come up with an answer.

Hi IDT, you do make me laugh! You say that you are not normal! What is normal anyway! Of course keeping yourself safe is your utmost priority, if you didn't do that then I would be worried.
Right as for your posts, I am not sure what is going on. Sally is right, if a post is long without paragraphs, I do seperate it out, to make it easier to read and decipher, however I haven't ever squished paragraphs together?
I am not sure why you are not able to always Edit your psots either, so I will see what the Tech team say.
I know that you have an awful lot of stuff going round and round your head and I know that you are able to sometimes let it out in poem form, would you consider writing a journal every day?
A friend of mine set up a blog page when she was splitting with her chap, it was a place where she was anonymous and could just vent. I don't know if anyone ever read it, she didn't give me or her other friends a link to it. But she found it really therapeutic.
On my other thread there's an option to edit post up the thread but the latest one there's no edit button.
I thought it wasn't something you all did your end.

Yes, Anna means like writing a journal rather than a diary (so when you feel like it, rather than every day religiously) but on-line, so that other people can read it. It's not an opportunity for others to comment on your life, but rather for other women in a similar situation to read and feel as though they have company 'on their road'.

I am going to look into the Editting today, usually the edit button is along the bottom of a post, however (for me) when I start a thread there is an edit button at the top of the message, I am not sure how it will look for you. I will let you know what I find out!
The journal/diary can be whatever you want it to be, its funny because in my mind I did see you writing it everyday online, but probably having it private, so no-one could read it. You would just log in at a set time and empty your thoughts onto the page!
Of course you could just write it as and when you feel like it and leave it open for others to comment, it is entirely up to you!
Is it something you would consider doing? If so would you want to do it privately or publicly?
Hi IDT, basically you should be able to edit any of your posts (although not delete them - admin have to do this). If it is a post as the start of a new discussion/thread, then the Edit button is a tab on top of the message.
I hope this solves this problem, as for the squished messages I am not sure about these, nor are our tech team! Do you write the message directly into the box on One Space or do you type it in Word first then copy and paste?

When you put (what I presume is) a smiley face, I can only see a box, so I am thinking that you aren't on Google Chrome?

Everytime I post nearly now on my thread there's no option to edit ;-/ hmmm I'm getting suspicious
Most times it's spelling grammar not that I'm perfect anyhow

That's so weird, IDT, but please accept my assurances there is nothing personal. I wonder if it is safari? Anna has asked the techies to look at it.

It does seem odd, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was Safari, however I am not a whizz at this. I will get back to you shortly :)

I've had all sorts of problems with the settings on the boards, even as a moderator! Perhaps Anna will be able to answer your question when she gets back from her break; she's way more technologically minded than me
