Research Project Looking at Single Parent Families and Educational Attainment of their Children

Hi,

I am a third year undergraduate studying Sociology at the university of Sussex.

I am doing my final year project on the effect coming from a single parent family has on a child's educational attainment.

Coming from a single parent family myself this is a topic I have a keen interest in and I hope to be able to disprove numberous pieces of existing literature that claim coming from a single parent family will result in lower performance at school.

As a result, I require single parents who are willing to be interviewed either face-to-face or over the phone. These interviews will take no longer than 30 mins and the choice of where, how and when the interviews take place is completely down to you! As i am not being funded for this I am unable to provide rewards like some researchers do but I will provide a copy of the final write-up to all participants along with full anonymity.

The hope is that this project provides a new, innovative look into single parent families.
