Hello all,
Now were do i even start, i have been a single mum for almost 7 years now.
I started working full time 3 years ago in an attempt to get myself off benefits, since then things have been getting progressively harder.
last year i got into such a rut that i had to give up my house as i physically couls not adford to live there, in all faireness it was a three bed property for two of us. I applied for housing benefit before giving up the property and was entitled to £20. I was left with no choice but to give up care of my child to his father wgile i worled to make things "better". i called the council during this time to advise that i was now actually homeless, all thry said to me was you work full time why cant you afford another house? becauae everyone has 2k stasged away right?
In November after reviewing my finances i started to rent a two bedroom house and have been living comfortable untill i did my tax credits renewal only to be told i am no longer entitled. i earn 15k a year which means i take home £1050 a month which covers the basic needa, i.e rent, council tax etc. i have a car as well so car inaurance us included, i recieve £80 a week child tax credite which covers childcare and food for the week. i am then left with less than £5 to live off. i made another application for housing benefit and yey again eas told i am entitled to just £20.
im struggling to be able to understand how we are ecpected to just live this way, the cut in my tax credits has resulted in me losjng £400 a month.
Any help or advise would be appreciated, im scared i will end up homeless yet again and more imlortantly lose care of my child.
Regards,
