So I was in the living room and turned around to see my 7 month old daughter crawling across the room for the FIRST time. I can't tell you how proud I am of her. I have not stopped smiling :) two days ago she finally learnt how to sit unsupported. I'm beaming with pride. I love this feeling and this is part of what having kids is all about. I've txted everyone I know telling them lol but feel kinda sad as I can't believe a father would chose not to be part of it and miss these special moments watching his child, none the less I'm so glad I get to see all these 1st moments :D xx
Awww it is so lovely isn't it , its brought a smile to my face too, thanks Tinkerbell2
Awww
Tinkerbell2 this is lovely, bet you are bursting with pride
What a cool post!!! Sharing something brilliant! Really lifted my spirits! xx
Before you know it, you'll be chasing her around the table xx
Ahh thats soo cute...just wait til she says her first swear word! Only joking, thats where my 3year old is at!
Cherish all these golden moments. I wish i'd kept a journal of the special times so the children can read it in the future. x

I have a diary where I write the dates & time down, luckily I had phone handy so recorded her first crawl- cant wait to show her future husband and kids heehee x
Tinkerbell2, teehee. Everytime my (very large now) boys bring a girl home for tea, I always pretend I am going to show them a photo of them in the bath when they were a baby
Wow Tinkerbell, I am sooooo jealous!!! I never did any of this ever and I can't remember anything, really! Have plenty of embarrassing stories though....
Brilliant idea to capture it on your phone - good thinking!
I started writing stuff down incase her father asked when her first things were but he has never asked or seemed bothered but it's a lovely little keep saver for me, I store it in her memory box, box full of stuff like her hospital band when born, a diary with all my scan dates, baby shower cake topper and photos of my family members, her fathers family members & a photo of me & her father together when we dated. I will give it to buba on her 18th birthday then maybe one day she can share it with her children / grandchildren
Yes that's a lovely idea. I have a baby book, and wrote things down, including their first words in the order they learned them. My eldest's second word was TRACTOR, which is pretty unusual (although he had to say "dack-dar" at the time!....he is a BA sudent now, haha)
Your daughter will love her memory box!
I still have the clip that they use to cut the placenta - eugh! My daughter will love that! It still has blood and gunk on it!
Its a shame that the other parent isn't as fascinated by these things as we are, but in the end it gives us such feel good factor, who cares if they aren't interested!
aah - how lovely tinkerbell2 - so glad you are sharing it with your new friends here - brilliant
