Hi

My son will turn 16 soon and im just wondering what he can do legally regarding his father.

He has no contact with him and hasnt done for over 5 years. His father had been turning up at parents evening with his 'new wife' (who was at one time my best friend) He seemed not to turn up at the last one.

My son at present can not stop him from contacting the school for information about his education.

What can my son do to prevent he accessing anything about him including his doctors info (he was contacting our gp about my daughter up until she was 16 to see if she was in the pill - she wasnt as not needed)

Hi happy mamma, I think this is one for our Legal Expert as I'm afraid I don't know the answer to this.

I am presuming his father has parental responsibility and that is why he is able to access these details now?

Hi happy mamma,

Even those under 16 have a right to privacy about contraceptive services from their GP. But at 16 they then are considered able to make their own decisions by the NHS.

Let us know what the Legal Expert says.
