Did you get an early tea omg? Really pleased that things are going okay with you and daughter. You see, teens are nice

Hi Sally W :) and thanks for the welcome! :o) Hazeleyes = yes I got an early tea = that was then overshadowed slightly by the appearance of the dreaded school report! hmmm = little checking up to do after the holidays methinks :oS x
Oh the dreaded school report. Is it the homework that is the bugbear?
Years ago, we found my Mum's old school report from when she was little. Mum was a rather prim and proper lady, by the way.The form teacher had written "J is very good at putting two and three-letter words together" I said "MOTHER, and now you have progressed to four letter words!"
Is there anything exciting going on in your area for the Jubilee, omg?
Lol Louise :o) it's herselfs birthday on Monday, so that's really going to be the focus of our weekend. She's having her party at a friends house where noise wont be an issue though, so i think we'll be spending most of the weekend sorting the prep for that ... I shall be nailed to the oven baking and she'll be nailed to her laptop facebooking her mates! Theres a street party in the village, but she's not keen. I might toddle up there at some point. I do love bunting :o) Though I do have some irks about the amount of money thats being spent on the jubilee when the country's in such chaos. x
Yes, I know what you mean. But maybe that is the whole point: distracting people from their worries? (as if bunting makes a difference to the jobs market....oh yes a few more people working in bunting factories 
)
Hope your daughter will have a lovely birthday and that is great that there is a house she can make a lot of noise in. What will you be baking? (...disorderly queue forms outside omg's house)
lol cakes! with the hens laying 8 eggs a day between them, I now bake fit to bust! I've got a sign on the garden gate - but even so, i've got a real glut at the moment! And quiches - I do a mean line in veggie quiche :o) x

Hey Anna! :o) Well she's already had her 'girly' present, whcih was a leather handbag she really wanted. But on her birthday - and this sounds like a really weird present, but we haven't got one, and she really wanted one - she's getting a barbecue! Complete with all the bits and pieces, forks and tongs, trays, charcoal bag things, and an apron! lol = might not sound very exciting = but it's a standing joke that she burns anything she puts near the cooker (I think its all just a ruse so I dont ask her to cook!) so I think she figures with a barbie she can get her mates round and just singe things in the garden! I'm a veggie, but she eats meat, so I think she has this idyllic idea about being able to lob dead things into flames and eat meat until she bursts! :o) Anyway = it'll give her and her friends something to do :o) Just hope we get at least one day without rain over the holiday! x
Oh that sounds a very original prezzie. She will love it. Weather forecast is mixed to say the least. You could also persuade her to cook a few veggie sausages and skewers 
We are having a bit of a street party here on Sunday and someone was talking about having octopus (yuk yuk)

Hi lrh! I do indeed have a hen by the same name! I'm just about to go out and start worming her, lol (oh the joys!) anyway = hello! And Louise - I used to bake for a local cafe = think I might have to see if they need any at the moment! Have a good weekend both xx

Lol = Thanks Anna :o) The sun keeps trying to break through, but she's gone off to decorate her friends garden for the party later now, so wont be attmempting to cook on it until tomorrow. (and im a very accomplished wormer! :o) x

Ah yes, Mum's taxi. I saw my eldest yesterday, he went away with a fiver and a big pack of bread cakes
