Hi all, I'm new!
I'm a London based mum of 2 boys, aged 8 and 10. I much prefer my life now to the ordeal of marriage, but it can get a bit lonely at times, especially as most of my friends are in relationships and oblivious to the problems and trials we face!!! Looking forward to chatting to some others in similar situations.
Hello again, just been saying hi to you on the other thread. You're right, people who are in "intact" families have no idea what it's like to parent on your own, and as a mum of boys myself, I do understand the challenges that can pose!
However....I am also a counsellor and can tell you that there are many people in relationships that struggle, that are ill-treated or are unhappy, and it often goes on behind closed doors and we can look at them and think all is well. So there are lots of positive sides to being a single parents too. Have a look at our thread: The Best thing about being a single parent is.......
Are you working at the moment and how are you getting on with balancing that with the family responsibilities?
Hi
Hello from me as well
Hi FunMumOf2 from me,
I know how you feel. I have two girls 8 & 12 and whilst i prefer the `calmness`of being alone to the turbulence of my marriage, it is lonely at times, which is where this site helps. You can chat to others who have gone or are going through the same thing and it really does help hearing their views and advice.
Best wishes and looking forward to `chatting`
A xxxx
