Ooh Tinkerbell2 you might get some cheeky replies to this Wink

Can I have two things? The first would be a letter saying that my son had dropped out of his Territorial Army application. The second would be a "beam me up Scotty" device so I could get from A  to B within one second instead of having to spend hours travelling, and I could pop and see my friend at the other end of the country for a coffee Laughing

What would YOU like?

:(   Zippy.

I do admire parents who share Christmases. .I wont lie I wouldnt do it esp when A is my only child and her father has another to enjoy the day with. I know that sounds horrible and selfish, of course all situations are different but I just wouldnt sit at home alone without my child. Its just me persobally though and I rate parents who do it

Yes it can be very challenging, I think the "secret" is not to sit at home alone but to make it a positive time that you can value in a different way.  Remember that children are happy to have two Christmasses. For years the boys and I had Christmas on Boxing Day, they were happy, see here (click) for tips on making a special day and if you are on your own on 25th December then you can choose a completely different day, whether it is helping out at a local lunch event or an old peoples' home where there will be people looking for companionship....or you may choose to have a duvet, choccy and DVD day.

Back to the matter in hand! Vin Diesel sounds nice, Tinkerbell2 Laughing

Would anybody like to find a magic spell in their stocking that would change something?

We are going to my parents tonight after L finishes school and are having a Christmas day tomorrow topped off by going to the panto tomorrow night. I'm then going off to London for Christmas with a friend so making it completely different to try and take my mind off the fact that L won't be there.

Other than that

the other things I would quite like in my stocking would be my driving licence and a car (not that I'm taking lessons or anything) and then a voucher for a spa day Laughing

Zippy, how wonderful, enjoy your Christmas this weekend, and I am glad you have such a good plan for the coming week.

OOh a car yes! You could always ask for a chauffeur as well, if you haven't taken those lessons yet Wink

I know it sounds massively corny and rubbish but I just want my kids to have a really gorgeous Christmas, as it will be their first one without their Dad here. They are spending half of it with me, and half of it (and boxing day) with him, so it'll be a big change for all of us.

And of course, an urban outfitters voucher of infinite redeemable value wouldn't go amiss. ;)
