Guidelines
We want the One Space online groups to be a safe and friendly place on the Internet where you will feel able to share your experiences and contact other single parents.
Take care – protect your family
Single parents may be targeted by people with dubious intentions who are not who they claim to be. There have been cases where such people have befriended single parents to gain access to their children. We advise online group members never to reveal any personal information about yourselves or others (e.g. telephone number, home address, email address) or information that you would not want a room full of strangers to know about. If you arrange to meet up only do so as a group and meet at a community event initially.
Just like in a real community you may at times have different opinions to other forum members. Using a computer to communicate can sometimes lead us to forget that the person on the other side is human. The following guidelines will help keep the forums safe:
1. We encourage lively discussion and diversity of opinion. We discourage personal attacks on others, obscenity and abuse.
2. We will not tolerate racism, sexism or homophobia.
3. We will remove any content that may put us in legal jeopardy, such as potentially libellous or defamatory postings.
4. We will remove spamming or advertising.
5. Anyone posting messages covered by points 2 – 4 above may have their registration withdrawn.
6. We ask you to be patient with each other. Users of all ages and abilities will take part in the forum.
