Hi Karen, welcome along to One Space. Only yesterday you became a single parent? Was that unexpected for you? This is a great group, and if you're looking for support you've come to the right place :) If you just fancy a chat, then you've also come to the right place.
I've been on my own with my 7 year old son since pregnancy. Can't say its been plain sailing, but to honest, I do love it. I'm learning a lot about the teenage years from people on here, and I'm dreading it! At least I've been pre-warned eh, haha.
How old is your child/ren? Are you able to get support from friends or family?

I've been a single parent for five and a half years now and it's great. There have been the odd moments when I've wished they had a pause button on the back of their heads but generally its a really amazing.
I think it gets better as they get older too, mine are five and seven now and they sometimes have me in stitches with the things they do and say.
I look at them at times and have moments, like sort of little mini epiphanies or something when I remember all the bad bits in the beginning and see that it is indeed all worth it, a million times over.

When you say you became a single mum yesterday, do you mean that you split up from your partner yesterday? How old are your children? How do you feel about the break up?
