Hello! New single mother in Exeter...
Hello Everyone
I am new to this chat room/boards malaraky, so please bear with me! My name is Jenna, 29, separated from my husband before xmas and have two wonderful, but totally bonkers kids - Marla (3) and Fraser (18 months). Still can not believe that i am a single parent - however its slowly becoming a reality, as relatives leave after xmas and i find myself struggling with the organisation of work and nursery. I guess it gets easier. Looking for support and friendship from these boards. Its great to "meet" you all!
Jenna xx
Hi peacekitten1980
Welcome to One Space, I hope that you will find us informative and supportive. So you are very new on the scene of single parenthood, how are you??
How are the children?
Did you know the break up was imminent?
Work and nursery and all the extra juggling can seem like a daunting handful, but just keep focussing on one day at a time (I know very cliche! But its soo true, we would all be shivering wrecks if we actually stopped and contemplated what the future held parenting alone!!) It does get easier and we end up taking it all in our stride.
Have you had an amicable split with your ex or is it too early to tell? Looking forward to getting to know you. :)
Hi peacekitten 1980
How are you? Welcome to Onespace? How are things in Exeter? How are you getting used to the new routine of the New Year, the snow and being a single parent? Anna has just asked a whole load of the questions I was going to ask, so rather than repeat them i will wait till you answer her post and be back in touch.
Do you work? It sounded as though you do but not sure and if so are you able to continue with that work now? You children are still pretty young, I wondered how they had taken it all and if you have been able to explain things to them in any way?
Cheers C-L
hi peacekitten 1980.
Hope you and your children had a good christmas etc. Am sorry your no longer with your husband. Has it worked out better for you now that your no longer together? Everyone here is very helpful and supportive which is great. Enjoy your stay. ;)
Hi peacekitten1980
Welcome to One Space. Sorry to hear your situation, but pleased you are joining us :)
The routine, I'm sure, will get easier for you. I'm glad you've had relatives over xmas too, that must have helped you so much.
You've come to the right place for support and friendship. Everyone is great here, and really helpful. We also have a good laugh too. There are a lot of forums, lots of different topics etc. It's easy to look around, but the easiest way is by clicking on view new posts or unanswered posts on the board index. (hope i've got that right) Yell if not
Have you got snow in Exeter? If so, how are the kids loving it?
Take care
Alison
