Moider! I have never heard that word before. Is it a local speciality?

Louise, think it means 'bother'. My Dad was welsh, and he used to say it!
Hope I'm right in thinking this Sparkling ;)

Do you know, I've no idea where it originates from. I used to think it may have been Liverpudlian, having worked it's way into North Wales. My sister used to use it a lot.

Yes, I think 'bother' sums it up very well :D Or making a nuisance of myself...

Ah that sounds right, I did try to look it up online, with litle success. if you say it in a New York accent it sounds like "murder" :o

Up here in Yorkshire I have noticed that no-one says "hello", they all greet each other with "Now then!". Anyone want to share any more local expressions?

We've been sorting the house out.

All the OU stuff has been shut away for now. While I knew I was going to be ok, the panic attack I had on Thursday frightened me a bit. The only thing I can put aside at the mo is the university work.

We've even had the vax out! Can't say it looks better though 8-)

Has anyone tried the 'Rug Doctor? Homebase rent it out for the day for a certain price. My carpets are begging me for a clean, but won't spend out, unless I know its worth the money!!!!

I did one of those after some work in the house and it seemed to get a lot of dirt out BUT it is quite strenuous to do it, much heavier than a hoover, or am I being a bit defeatist?

Hi
Sorry don't know much about rug doctor but this might be useful:
http://www.reviewstream.com/reviews/?p=30879. If you google rug doctor review then more sites come up and the general consensus is that they do work well but are difficult to use and take quite a bit of time. Good luck is you decide to do it. Will you please come back and let us know your thoughts on it?
Sparklinglime - well done you getting the vax out. I am sure it has made a difference, we are not always able to judge that bit for ourselves rationally thats all. it is a bit like cooking a big meal and then not really being able to taste it or being very critical of it just cause we know the time and effot that went into it! it sounds like postponing the OU work for the time being was a good decision. You will return to it whe the time is right for you, I a sure of that.
It must feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders?
Enjoy the run up to xmas.

I've had such kind replies from the OU, that I'll get the books back out. I'll speak to the tutor on 11 January. It might mean this essay will be the one I'll leave out.

Everything got too much on Thursday.

Not much better today really. Youngest is full of cold, and was literally up from 2.30am with him coughing. In the bathroom with boiling water at one point as he got croupy. I still made him go to school though

He's trying to get a day off tomorrow, but I've said no...

The Git is seeing them tomorrow 6 - 8pm. No sarcasm. I wonder if he's heard from the CSA?

That's brilliant re the OU beiong supportive and more flexible than you had thought. Let's hope you can move forward with things in January.

I hope your boy is better soon, it is such a worry when they make that awful croupy noise. How is he now?
