Oh no. The tractor has gone past again. In fact, it has now stopped by my garden!
We urgently need rain here.
LIKE NOW
Well, I dont know that the weathermen are promising any such thing, sparkling, for several days in fact, I know it is not just the smell but you will be reluctant to put laundry out too!
How is everyone doing today? I met a friend last night for a lovely chat, the time went really quickly and I had to rush home, thank heavens I had recorded The Apprentice
Daughter and I watched The Apprentice. Quite glad at the first sacking, and definitely have the next one in mind too! Daughter liked the one who got fired mind...
Washing repair man now due to call next Wednesday. I'm covering new girl's days off next week so home that day anyway. If they don't come this time I will not be nice.
Glad you had a good evening Louise.
Yesterday a woman called who was a friend but got very friendly with The Git, needing her daughter's paperwork for volunteering in Scouts signed (a few days older than my daughter). Oldest twigged what was going on and left the house. I was polite! Her daughter's lovely though, and at the end however much resentment there may be, it certainly has nothing to do with her daughter...
Had to laugh though as this woman is now very close to a married man on another part of the island. She sees no problem with it as he's unhappy and so is she. I suggested to her that the wife may be... She had mentioned it before, and I said the same then too.
The field is an interesting, um, colour. The farm was having some work done, but the JCB driver stood looking at the tractor, got in his van and has left
Hi all. Just popping in to say hi really. Have been busy all week, am wrecked to be honest. Today, not such a good day, not with school stuff, just me in general I think. Not even sure why, probably me just being in a miserable mood!!!
Hope you're all okay. Mum from the school is popping in, (for convenience sake I have to say) she needs to go to a shop near me, and asked if she could come round. Pretty fed up, as didn't see her when I was off work, but not going to be horrid. Hope to catch up with everything later.
chin up hazeleyes
having a massive dilemma regarding the cats - will post on my other thread
Hi all, hope everyone is ok - sorry you're fed up Hazeleyes - can't read back the last week, so really hope all are well!
Had my last time in the community today - sad times, but on the other hand it means I'm moving on with the studies. One week maternity next week, then the year is over. Am very proud of my essay writing - picked up three scripts this week and found that my angst essay (the one I thought I'd fail, you remember) had really 74 % and was only down to 69 because it was late. Am very smug! Sorry!
Other than that I am enjoying the sunshine and worrying about sons 2 & 3 for different reasons. Big sigh. x
You can be as smug as you like, Hopeful, we are very proud of you Well done on completing the district nursing bit.
LRH it is a big decision to make........do not know what to suggest really, it's very hard.
Didn't you make a cup of tea for the men then, sparkling? I had to giggle at your remark to the "lady" about the bloke's wife heh heh.
Hazeleyes you need a great big HUG, I am sure it is tiring being back at work so just cut yourself some slack.
Can I ask everyone please to just ignore all the silly spam that is hitting the site, I am getting rid of it as I go along.
Has everyone done the evaluation for the £80 prize??
Well done Hopeful, the maternity ward will be so exciting for you. Awww, all those newborn babes.
lrh, haven't read the thread yet, but will do. Hope you're okay.
More waiting on the washing machine Sparkling. It never rains, but it pours sometimes doesn't it?
Louise, thankyou for the hug, much appreciated. Just having one of those down days, and I know it's to do with tiredness, but I'm going to bed early and sleeping through, so shouldn't be that tired. Not caught up with shopping at all this week, so surviving on what I have in the freezer (thank heavens for this).
How are things with you Louise? How's your son doing with avoiding the ex at work? I will indeed ignore the silly spams
Hi to everyone else, hope you've had a good day. Roll on tomorrow!!
The Scouts had a lovely hike in the dark on the beach... It was 14 degrees!
I was going to have an early night, but the dog has been really poorly so I'm watching all the political shows to be sure she doesn't want to run out again.
Loads of hugs Hazeleyes. You've had a difficult time and I'm not surprised you're feeling out of sorts. Also, end of term coming, so It will be tiring coming up to that too. C being poorly and the stress sorting out care there would have worn you out.
Well done with the essay Hopeful. I'm sure the new rota will be so lovely
morning everyone - hope you are feeling a bit better hazeleyes and hope your dog is feeling better sparkling
did someone say spam
have a good weekend everyone
Don't mention spam to daughter, as she's wanting me to make her some spam fritters...
I'm tired, but had a phone call from MiL. They're waiting for an ambulance to take FiL to hospital as he's had the most awful nose bleed. She's understandably so upset. I'll be going to the hospital later.
Morning one and all
Hope there is better news of FiL. sparkling. And hope the dog has settled down.
Hopeful I always watch that programme One Born Every Minute so I will think of you during future episodes
Hazeleyes the op has really knocked it out of you so although it is annoying to be so tired, it is just Nature's way (shakes fist at Nature)
How are you this morning LRH?
News from the Louise camp: son seems to have made a good recovery re girlfriend but of course will see her again this weekend at work. He is working today but it is her day off. Went on an outward bound thing in the Dales yesterday, rope-climbing and was moaning about being scared of heights. Not a very helpful attribute for someone who would like to be a fireman! Over the weekend and on day off (Monday) I will be finally finishing the bedroom revamp, got a lovely mirror through ebay and as bedside table have actually got a little garden table from Tesco, I know that sounds awful but it is really lovely and was cheap! I will do a couple of pics for the quilt when I have finished, there is still the last stage to declutter.
Hope everyone will have a good day and enjoy the sunshine
I am good thanks Louise - we are going to get our two bundles of fur today!
the girls don't know that we can take them away with us - as i said on my other thread I am not living my life wondering if the idiot is going to take my house away.
Your bedroom revamp sounds great - look forward to the pics
That does sound lovely. Glad son is doing ok, and I'm sure he'll be fine tomorrow.
Just had a text from MiL to say they're on their way home (they have transport if FiL is going home), and she'll phone me when they're back.
No sunshine here. The cloud seems to enjoy the north-west!
Good luck with the fluffy things lrh
Looking forward to seeing the pics Louise. It does sound lovely.
Sparkling, not sure if I mentioned this before, but my Mum also used to have the nose bleeds. I wonder if it's connected with their illness, or just coincidence? I do hope your FIL is okay, plus your MIL of course.
lrh, aww, you've decided to get them then? The kids will be delighted, as will you too.
A really tiring day today. Dressing up for everyone, so all staff in great spirits (what a change we see on these occassions!) I went to the pub at lunchtime with another TA, her teacher, and a lovely supply teacher. No drinking though, (promise), we all stuck to coke, and a bit to eat. It was lovely sitting outside in the sunshine, absolutely glorious. Not sat down all day, apart from lunch, so feet are burning like crazy. Thank heavens Friday is here. One more week to go, but who is counting
fluffy things have arrived
feels like a new beginning for all of us
Enjoy the fluffiness lrh.
That sounds like a lovely day hazeleyes.
Just got off the phone with MiL. One of the Sister's lives in their village and she was sensible and got a social worker to talk to them. FiL is very immobile now and MiL is struggling to help him around the house. Although they have a wheelchair, MiL can't get it in the car as the seats don't fold - and its one of these teeny cars. Also their drive is VERY steep.
Suggested that if they apply for Attendance Allowance that the money could be used to fund a bigger car - but no, they save for things like that.
They got home around 5.15pm, so its been a long day and she's so tired. I'm glad they've agreed to the social worker calling. When they came to me they came up with so many solutions.
She sounded so stressed, but doesn't want me to call today. I'll call over the weekend.
I've cried getting off the phone, so Lord know how she feels.
I'm so tired, I'm actually going to bed! Popped into work as today we got rid of one of the apprentices. It's been on the cards for a while, unfortunately. Had to do a reference (although friend did not agree to write what he was being asked to!). Needed to check everything too as 'new' girl could be off on Monday - she just doesn't know until Monday.
Night all.
Hello lrh, that's great that you're feeling as if it's a new beginning for you all. Enjoy the fluffies
Hi Sparkling. I'm sure it must be so upsetting for you too. You're extremely close to them, so obviously it's going to affect you all. Once Social Services get involved, I'm sure they'll be able to come up with some ideas. Hopefully, they'll be able to give your FIL a folding wheelchair. That's what my Mum had. Do they have a stairchair? When it came to the point when my Mum needed one, she would of had to wait for about 2 years, so she got one herself, by paying monthly. I do hope Social can make their lives a bit easier. I hope you manage to sleep.
Hiya Louise, how's your evening been?
I'm ready to hit the sack too, though C won't be thrilled by this news hehe. I can just about keep my eyes open, and it's only 8.30!!!
Hello we were all alot of sleepyheads last night (me included, I fell asleep on the settee!)
LRH I am glad that you are glad, if you know what I mean
Sparkling it is sometimes hard for people to accept the outside help so it is great the SW is going round. Hope there is better news of FiL over the weekend.
Hazeleyes ooh it's awful when your feet are burning.Hope you got a good rest, as you say one more week to go. Easter has rushed at us this year!
DON'T FORGET THE CLOCKS GO FORWARD TONIGHT
Morning everyone - hope things get sorted for your FIL sparkling - our house is alive again with the fluffy things (that's the new name for the animals that Louise has a phobia about!) they are not fluffy (thank goodness) but its a great name for them sparkling
My youngest was throwing a ping pong ball up and down the stairs for them and they loved it!
They are so playful and seem quite contented - both purr when stroked
We had to go out yesterday and I dropped the kids off and I popped back - one of them was sat on the windowsill - so cute!
Perhaps i should talk about them on a new thread so Louise doesn't get agitated!
Have a good day everyone - we are going out for a late lunch as they both had great parents evenings and tomorrow I am child free and relaxing at my spa day
Enjoy
I'm glad they're bring fun to the house.
My in-laws live in a bungalow, luckily, but steps at the front and the back, and a very steep hill in the front (all tarmac).
I need to get my plastic chairs washed so I can place them around the garden so I can have a sit down or a 'lean' on the back of one while I do some gardening. Will have to find a gardener I fear.
Sixteen year old at college this morning, and eldest at work.
I wore my sunglasses in from the car. I mut stop being so critical of my varifocals, as I can hardly see the computer screen with the sunglasses, so have upped the screen size to 200% and am peering at the screen without specs. Ache too much at the mo to go back up to the car. I can't park by the house.
Youngest has been out this morning on his scooter, but is now in the living room having dug out his beyblades which he found while tidying!
I'm off to chuck more stuff outside the house ready for the tip.
We have "the day from hell" on here.
Over the years, with Children in Need, Comic Relief, Sports Relief, Band Aid I must have given £100s. Yet things seem as bad as ever. Plenty of funds for weapons though...
I'm not in a good mood, am I?
aah sparkling - I am sending you the good mood fairy - she can wave her magic wand and make everything better (hopefully)
Thank you, but that would need a miracle.
Tesco due soon and i really wish I'd ordered ice cream.
oops - i will send the miracle fairy insteadalthough she tells me she is out of ice cream
Morning - just proves how early I wake up when you think the clocks went forward
Off for my spa day today - looking forward to relaxing and chatting with some friends - oh and eating
Looks like its going to be a lovely day and next week looks great too
Have a good day everyone - hope the miracle fairy did her magic sparkling
Have a wonderful spa day, LRH
Are you feeling any better today, sparkling?
What news from you, Hazeleyes? Hope C is better now. How about you?
Bedroom finished! TA DA! I was a bir scared to sleep in it last night in case I ruined it Today a friend of mine wants to go along to a rather "alternative" church so I said I would go with her, it will be interesting.
Did anyone watch that new programme The Voice? I thought it was very good.
Good morning all. Enjoy the spa day lrh, and the eats of course
Louise, C is much better thankyou. We had a day in the garden yesterday, it was glorious. Did some food shopping first, unpacked that, then went to Homebase, and got myself a rotary line C mixed the cement for me, so I'm getting excited about using that in a while. Little things do please me!!!! Didn't do any digging, but I did cut the grass, and did a bit of cutting back (that I neglected to do last year). This morning, I have ironed, prepared the salad, egg and onion and potatoe salad, so I can spend some more time in the garden. I still won't do any digging though, as I could easily be in pain next week, so I'll get cracking on that in the hols.
I didn't see the voice Louise. Didn't actually watch any TV last night, I was wrecked. We did have two visitors as well. Friday friend and the TA who lives around the corner, so it was nice, not too late either, which was a bonus!
Sparkling, how are you doing today? Did you manage to get your glasses from the car?
Enjoy the church Louise.
Off to put my washing out, yeahhhh
I do hope you enjoy your rotary line Hazeleyes. I'm glad you've had some time in the garden. I am so glad C's better.
We did watch The Voice and thought it was good. Daughter loved the judges!
A tiring day yawn. Didn't stay too long in garden as it wasn't as warm as yesterday, sunny, but we found it chilly. Just had relaxing bath and hairwash, so both ready for bed. One more thing to do, which is C's sandwich for tonight, then I'm all done. Rotary line was fab, hung some towels out, but they didn't dry completely, and unfortunately no tumble dryer to finish them off!!
Friend called. A surprise in store for C a week on Saturday. She is taking him up to London to see a magic show, then for something to eat afterward. He'll be delighted, as it gives him one to one time with her, which he hasn't had for a while. Hopefully that day will be glorious for me to sit and relax on own in garden. Here's hoping anyway.
Hope everyone is okay. Did you enjoy your spa lrh? How was the church Louise? What have you been up too today Sparkling?
How lovely does that sound!
Just got back from the beach. Really gutted as no ice creams yet - too early!!
The three enjoyed it and didn't get too wet. Daughter panicing as she thought there were two weeks left of school... Hahahahaha!
I have to be up early tomorrow as new girl is possibly off, so I need to be there for 8.30am. I've bought a birthday cake for her in case she is in tomorrow or for her on Tuesday. One from a bakery, so hopefully it will be nice.
Going to put pasta on now to have with the casserole. While the clocks may have gone forward, my sense of time hasn't.
Hi all, just been popping in on the boards throughout the day, its very quiet! Either everyone is out enjoying this barmy weather or as it is Louise's day off, everyone is taking a day off too!
Well whatever the reason, I hope you have had a good one and all is well in your world
Sadly Anna I was working, though I did manage to sit in the garden for an hour when we got home. How are things with you and your daughter?
Sparkling, the beach trip made me so envious. How lucky are you lot? Glad you all had a good day.
Louise, did you have a posh coffee today? Me thinks you might have
lrh, how are the little bundles of joy doing?
Hope everyone has had a good day. I've been run ragged, here there and everywhere it seems! Good day though. I just seem to sit down later and later these days, lord knows why this is.
My washing machine seems to be doing hip hop dance recently Anyone know the reason for it suddenly deciding to jump around???
Hi hazeleyes - have the legs moved - most machines you can level out the feet to stop it dancing about - if not - join in
the bundles of joy are exactly that - the house is full of fun again - and as the song says " and I am feeling fine"
lrh, I loved that comment, join in The only dance partner I'd have had in years hehe. Will check the legs, thankyou for that tip. Glad the bundles of joy have settled in, and you're 'feeling fine'. That's great. Hope you're having a good evening. I'm off to dance ........... to bed
Have had a lovely day. Went for the first day with a community midwife which turned out to be only half a day, so caught up with a friend from uni in the afternoon. And my daughter made dinner. Excellent.
:-)
Hope everyone else is fine, too! x
Nine and a half hours at work, and no chance of a break. I like to think new girl can come back tomorrow and not be too gutted!
I have the dentist to look forward to tomorrow. No work until Thursday now, although I should pop in and have some cake.
Glad you had a good day hopeful.
I'm off to bed now too - no stamina!
My washing machine started to dance around the kitchen because of the cracked slab. Which hopefully will be replaced on Wednesday or I will have to ask for a replacement machine, which I don't really want to do. Glad you had a good day though hazeleyes.
Isn't it funny how fluffy bundles can bring so much laughter? Well.. if you like fluffy bundles that is...
Hope you had a posh coffee Louise... in the sunshine!
Good morning one and all!
You all seem to have had some nice times, that is great news
Good luck for the new placement, Hopeful. Sparkling you are working too hard AGAIN, but you so deserve a slice of cake, your beach trip sounded lovely. How is FiL? Hazeleyes, a whole Saturday to yourself WOW that will feel like a real treat. LRH it sounds as if the new additions to the family have really made things better for you and the children, that is lovely (by the way I am fine to discuss cats, just don't like being in the same room!)
No posh coffee for me yesterday as I was waiting for a delivery. Not the sort YOU were waiting for, Hopeful I went out in the afternoon and one of the things I did was to get some colourful little plants for the bit of garden at the front, they look very nice I must say. Going for a posh coffee late today though and have four counselling clients, one is on their final session today and then I will be back to my normal quota of three. I have to stay extra late tonight as the receptionist is not in so I will stay as an extra body so the other counsellor is not left on her own (just a safety thing) I have to do my Gift Aid for the year, we don't charge a set fee, we ask for donations and then reclaim the tax back if the donor is a taxpayer...anyway I will be busy even while not with a client! The church was fun, no hymns that I knew but modern worship songs and lots of friendly people there. My friend was very keen so we may go again on Easter Sunday.
Hope everyone will have a good day
Aw, Louise, that church sounds like my church. You should come and see! :-)
Am not very optimistic on the delivery prospects as this placement is in the community and not many women opt for a home birth. My mentor is on call from tonight at eight though, and she's promised to call me, too, should she get one.
Had an hour of uni today and went for a pub lunch with two of the girls after. Very nice as it's lovely and sunny and we sat outside and had a really good giggle.
Daughter sulking because I didn't want to take the car to get some bread from the supermarket - it's only five minutes walk away, and look at the weather!
Hope everyone is ok!!
the weather really does help the mood doesn't it
just two more days at work for me then off for Easter - no doubt the weather will break on Friday - sorry Louise but my cats are now known as fluffy things! Fluffy things sat at window watching me gardening - they will have to be inside for about 3 more weeks just so they know where home is
Still feeling happy and contented - lets just hope the idiot doesn't sabotage it!
I have booked more counselling - going on Friday - but this time it is for my relationship with my eldest which has always been difficult - hope to unravel some stuff
Have a good evening everyone
That sounds really positive LRH
Hopeful I am loving hearing that you are doing some relaxing things amongst all the work.
I had four clients at counselling today, so am pretty tired. Just got a cuppa so time top put my feet up methink. Have a nice evening everyone
I have the joy of waiting for the washing machine man - AGAIN. Or should that be waiting for the phone call to cancel again?
Sorting out a camp for the Cubs. Should sort something for the Scouts too. I want indoor (which I can do as I have a permit), but they want tents (which I can't do as I refused to have a permit after last year's camp as I can't do that alone).
Decisions, decisions...
Hope you had a good sleep Louise.
I hope that goes well lrh.
Hopeful, my lot are the same
THE WASHING MACHINE REPAIR CHAPPY IS HERE (he's lovely). Waiting for the second engineer to arrive with bits. So nice I'm making him a cup of tea
Phew what a relief sparkling, he finally got there. He deserves a massive cuppa!
Parents evening beckons
Good luck with the parents evening. I do hope that there will be some answers and apologies.
Well yes, me too
Hope you have a good day, sparkling
