The gym is now becoming routine, which is good. When I used to train I'd get frantic if I couldn't go. Not quite at that point, but nearly... And I am enjoying it. Just wish I could get on the rowing machine without help, but I can at least now get off it...
Sometimes being on your own is a nice way to be, Kiera.
While I am seeing someone at the moment (omg, I still can't believe that...) I like the fact our lives are separate. My lot will see him at some point, I'm sure, especially as I sometimes shop at the place he works. And last time I called there, I'd just missed meeting his daughter... I know I couldn't deal with having another adult to consider on a daily basis. I don't want to.
I think you're right sparkling, I like things the way they are at home too. I remember reading an interview with Dawn French, she was talking about seperating from Lennie Henry, she said that she liked not having to make compromises all the time.
My back is still giving me problems, unfortunately, but its really variable so its difficult to work out what I'm doing or not doing. I shall go back to the dr next week to ask for physio.
Afternoon all it has been a plesant day here so far, i have managed to do some food shopping this morning, i usually end up doing at the weekend with the kids in toe, i forgot how quick i can get things done when their not with me, i even saved some money.
How was your massage keira?
I hope you manage to figure out what it is your doing that is causing your back problems PQ.
What does the bereavement research thing entail Louise?
Whats everyones plans for the weekend?
The back issue is a pain, pardon the pun! Today I woke feeling very uncomfortable but have been fine all day.
Tonight I am catching up with friends I made from my post-natal group, so that should be good fun. Tomorrow the girls are with their dad for a few hours, see what that brings?? And then tomorrow night I have my neighbours children for a sleepover, they are age 1 and 3!!!! May be a bit bleary eyed by sunday....
I gave up food shopping with my 2 a while ago Sally and I have noticed that I spend much less these days.
Don't envy you the looking after the littlies, PQ, I forget how lively they are, my friend brought her 14 month old when we went for a coffee the other day. She is the cutest little girl I have ever seen and the cafe staff were really good with her, playing and chatting with her but my friend hardly sat down for two minutes. Glad your back has eased off, I agree you should see the physio if it continues. It's great that you have kept in touch with the post natal ladies.
Sparkling it does sound good progress at the gym. You don't have to be Jessica Ennis, just keeping mobile is good. I am walking more these days so we are BOTH doing well, I reckon
Kiera shame about the chap but you are right to give yoursels some more healing time, I agree. How was the massage?
Sally, I order my shopping online so I can see how much it is adding up to. Though when my eldest comes I have an extra trip to the butcher, like today, got a free quiche today "because it's yesterday's", heh heh.
Bereavement study: another counsellor is doing research for her PhD about how traumatic bereavement has affected counsellors' work with clients. I did a recorded interview with her today and will meet her in 6 weeks for the final debriefing, I also have to write a short reflective piece for her.
Permission to shout in a loud and very annoying way? IT'S STRICTLY TONIGHT!!!!
Have a good evening, everyone
Just been reading back a bit - so much has happened with everyone here!!! I don't seem to have time for computers or telly at the moment - I feel totally out of the loop here!
Anna, I am sorry I missed your Birthday! Happy very late birthday!!!
Sparkling, I am really happy for you! Enjoy!
HappyMamma, I so understand your son & college worries. No3 son at the moment is in a good phase - he started college (in which he enrolled himself to get out of a maths lesson at the time he enrolled, ha ha) and the idea was he does one year and then we'll see. At the moment he wants to do another year after that - the course is Construction Multiskills, they kind of give them a taster of plumbing/electrics/bricklaying and he seems to like electrics the best, mind that's scary (like your knives). So I pray that attitude will continue.
I am off for a week now, going to walk around the Isle of Wight with a friend. Hopefully we won't hate each other at the end of that!
See you all next week!
Thanks Hopeful. Enjoy the break
getin ready for my big night out soon, out at 5pm lol, cant wait, much deserved breakxx
Have a good time kiera.
Hopeful have a wonderful holiday, hope the weather is kind to you!
Kiera enjoy your night out and be good, haha.
Sparkling have you managed any "me" time today?
Eldest is here, there is my chicken and chorizo thing in the slow cooker so we are going to have a nice tea and watch Strictly.
Morning, how are you all? Sleep well? My youngest has just got in, he was working on the club door till 5am then had a couple of drinks and came home. Eldest and I are off to church at 10 so we will leave him to sleep in peace. Had a good telly night last night although we parted company when he went up to watch Match of the Day.
What are everyone's plans for the day?
Me time, at the moment, seems to be driving. I absolutely love driving, but due to costs journeys have to be essential.
This summer, driving oldest back and forwards to work, I have really started to enjoy the car again. My confidence has returned too, which I know had gone. I used to do about 34000 a year, with trips out with my lot, as they were growing up, and five years ago, when I got the car, this dropped to under 8000.
I drove 3000 in August alone!
So since adding oldest to my car insurance, the driving has greatly reduced. He has his car back now too, so he's happy.
I'll miss the driving.
That's good that you have enjoyed the driving, sparkling, shame you can't do more.
Lovely sunny day here. Been to church, there is usually tea and coffee before the service but not today, everyone was desperate for a cuppa. The hotel staff finally brought it in just after the talk had started, I was wondering whether anyone would dare go and make one but no-one did till after it had finished, haha.
Youngest has been fed and watered ready for his Asda shift, eldest goes back home this evening.
I have to say that I did got to see the sunset at Rhosneigr, and then to see my friend who lives that way. It was nice to see her.
Morning all,
I had a lovely time with my neighbours girls. They were great fun and we all really enjoyed ourselves.
Glad you got out in the car sparkling. It is a shame that the cost of motoring prevents us from doing the things we enjoy.
Louise, did you enjoy Strictly. I must admit, I nearly wet myself laughing at the hairy biker!!
Happy Monday morning all, how is everyone after the weekend?
How was your evening out and the littlies sleepover PQ?
The trip to Rhosneigr sounds great sparkling, sadly i don't drive but it is one of those things that is on my to do list, once my lot have flown the nest i want to get one of those camper vans and go travelling.
Hope your enjoying your break Hopeful!!
Sounds like you had a nice weekend with your eldest Louise.
Well i didn't do much of anything for most of the weekend i have been fighting with a cold and did not have the energy to do anything, though actually sitting doing nothing meant that i actually spent quite abit of time with my lot, we had a game of UNO on Saturday night which had everyone laughing. Today is work and catching up on some of the stuff that did not get done at the weekend.
I love that game UNO, Sally, I used to work in a bank and we had a huge tournament going at lunchtimes. If you got more than one Draw Two or Draw Four cards against you, you had to shout as loudly as possible "the WAD, I've got the WAD!" We used to laugh ourselves silly.
Talking of laughing, I agree PQ that the Hairy Biker was hilarious in Strictly. The Corrie lady was fab but I was saying to my friend that the public might get her in real life mixed up with her fictional character, as in "I'm not voting for HER, after what she did to that nice Tyrone" haha. Great that you enjoyed yourself with the little ones, bet you were tired after all that energy.
Sparkling, you are the Sunset Queen
Sally I hope your cold clears up quickly, there are a lot about.
Eldest and I had a lovely cosy time, I have got him a onesie today he can keep here now and taken some stuff to the charity shop and been to the butchers for a huge bag of mince to freeze in smaller portions and been out for a posh coffee too. Finished reading "Room" and now looking at "Love in a Cold Climate" has anyone read it?
I'm glad I went, as the weather today has been such a change, and it was raining this evening.
I must have been clenching my teeth today as my whole mouth is hurting. So I'm in bed. My friend has flu - but then we have three off sick at work with one in hospital as he's so poorly - we're guessing quincey (how ever that is spelt). My collegue was in today, so not as horrid a day as it could have been.
I hope everyone is ok.
I'm glad you had a good time with eldest. Louise.
Glad you had a good time pq.
Your plans sound brilliant Sally!
Hope you get a good night, sparkling, and your mouth is not too painful
I have a new counselling client tomorrow so looking forward to meeting them. I also have another visit to The Dentist You Never Want To Meet, eeeeek.
Is everyone having a decent evening?
I hope your dentist appointment goes well this time Louise
How are you this morning sparkling?
Hi PQ glad that you had a good weekend.
Lots of paperwork for me to catch up on today!!
Hi everyone it has been quiet in here today, i trust you all had a good day!!
Well all that paperwork i mentioned earlier is still to be done grhhh... something else came up that took up most of the day.
No plans as of yet for tonight, but then my lot haven't got home yet and found me something to do... so i'm off now to get a cuppa before they get here.
I had a bit of a discussion with the eldest this afternoon. He's moving out next month - now where have I heard that before...
I went to the gym, but only for half an hour. Mixed feelings about seeing a friend there, as she fell and badly broke her leg over three months ago, and so is hoping to strenghten things, but an MRI scan shows the bone isn't healing. Its nice in that we have a good chat on the rowing machine, although, she has her feet on the floor...
We're cooking in Scouts tomorrow evening so I need to contact the other leader to see what I need to get.
hi louise i told him i wana leave it ages ago, lol hes to quiet for me, and i mean quiet,i did like him but not for me, i jsut wana b on my own, im nmot ready to see anyone, yes b nice break tomz cant wait,im avin massage today my back, neck and head, a tenner, i won it lol, hope everyone is okx
