Hello. Well, a good day at school, even did some gardening in the rain!! Am very tired though. Saw friend, and neither of us spoke about Saturday, perhaps it's for the best. Like you say Anna, I think it could cause problems. She has spoken about her relationship before, sometimes I keep quiet, but if she asks me what I think, I do tell her!! It was slightly awkward with her, but to be honest I'm now no longer bothered either way. She's the type of person that tells others what to do, but only on occassions can she admit to her own rocky relationship. Think I'll stay well clear Cool Spoke to C about the changing rooms, and he said he's not bothered, and doesn't want to go in the ladies!! I give up hehe.

Dinner is on, C has homework still to complete, I've given up on that as well. Too tired to argue. Not needed until Wednesday so it's okay. Hope you've all had a good day, plenty of rain here, has stopped now though.

Hi Anna - its explorer 9 - it doesn't log me out but when I first came on this site I had to copy my post before I pressed post because 9 times out of 10 it would just "comment field required"

so if I didn't copy it first I would have to type it all again - when the changes came along I haven't had any problems since.

Now back to having to copy posts and every couple of posts it starts saying comment field required but more often than not won't even accept a copied post

I can see the emoticons but again as before I cannot use them!

Good morning one and all

LRH I know that Internet Explorer 9 caused me a lot of problems with a lot of websites. In fact I went back to IE 8 and have kept blocking the IE9 download for this very reason. Can I suggest you try downloading another browser, my favourite is Firefox, you can just google Firefox and it is free to download and very quick to set up.

Sparkling it was grotty here yesterday but nice today, not going to last though Cry Glad to read elsewhere that you are having a day off to get sorted Smile

Hazeleyes, that is interesting that your friend didn't mention it. It is a perfect illustration to me that whilst we struggle on our own, and have these ideas that everyone else has perfect family set ups and gorgeous family picnics on Bank Holidays, the reality is very different. Hope work goes ok today

Hopeful, how are you?

I had my usual posh coffee yesterday and did a hot oil treatment on my hair and went to a Lions Club event (a social history talk by an old chap from West Yorkshire, very interesting and funny) Two counselling clients today Smile

Daughter has been dropped off at college for interview.

Just sitting here waiting now...

Hi all,

Hopeful, I hope you enjoyed the lovely Bristol weather today and had a good journey home :)

Hazeleyes, sounds like you will just have to play it by ear with your friend. Glad C seems quite happy going into boys changing rooms, he knows best!! I gave up pestering my daughter about homework, school used to give them such a rollicking if they didn't do it, I soon found that I didn't need to pester her, she learnt all on her own that it was worth getting it done - she didn't need me going on at her too - one less thing I had to worry about!

sparklinglime, glad you have got your essay off and fingers crossed that you hear back soon, so that you can get on with the last one! I hope your daughter has a good interview. I hope you are taking this time of waiting to relax and unwind for the day :)

Louise, hot oil treatment sounds wonderful, did it make you feel wonderful?

littleredhen, Sally is having the same problems as you, Sam was not in today, but I will catch him tomorrow. He recommends everyone uses Google Chrome, I didn't want to change, but now I wouldn't be without it!! You can move all your tabs and favourites over very easily Cool

All is well in my world, tai chi tonight, looking forward to an hour and a half of bliss Smile

Good morning, how are you all?

LRH I saw in the other thread that you were looking at Google Chrome.

Sparkling how did your daughter get on?

Hazeleyes hope C got his homework done, I must say I do agree with Anna, in the end you have to let them take the consequences of not doing it!

Anna yes I looked liked a Yeti while doing the treatment on my hair but it was much better afterwards. Don't forget it is The Apprentice tonight (phew, remembered it is Wednesday)

I only had two counselling clients yesterday (I find seeing all four quite tiring) Today I have a friend popping over (secretly wants to inspect my new boudoir!)

Hope everyone is OK

Hopeful, the website seems to be misbehaving in Internet Explorer 9 (some other sites do this too, not just ours!) I had exactly the same problem when I tried to post some messages yesterday when I was at my counselling place and had a long gap between clients, got very annoyed when it would not post. Sam (our IT chap) always reckons that Google Chrome is the best broswer and for myself I like Firefox, Either of these can be downloaded quickly and for free.

Hello all. Well, what an awful day. Raining non stop, and had a clap of thunder a while ago. Thankfully I'd just got in. There was a meeting yesterday at work, about the possible cut in wages etc. The subject got round to the council. Anyhow, I saw red, when the spokeswoman started specifically talking about single parents with one child, and how they are dished out 25,000 a year!!!!!!! Actually at that point I was so shocked I couldn't speak. Staff wandered away, I went into the staffroom, and let rip. Asking where they'd got there info from? Was also said that 'we' don't pay for school trips, music lessons blah blah. I think you would have all been proud of me, as normally I don't like things like that, but I was sooooooo angry. This morning, one of the 'culprits' came over and said, 'I hope you don't think I was referring to you?'. 'Of course you were' said I, 'I was on all the benefits, and I only have one child'. Tongue out

Hope you're all well, going to have a quick look around at the posts. Catch you all later. x

Good for you!  That is awful though.

There have been wage cuts around here.  It isn't a good place at teh mo.

The Git phoned eldest to say they'd pick them up at 4pm.  HOWEVER, eldest would need to take his car as not enough room in theirs...  Just given son £20 for petrol as they're of to the cinema.  I have also told son that The Git had better cover the costs and I want that £20 back!  I am such a b*tch.

Had a letter from CSA yesterday.  Payment being reduced from £13 odd a week to £12 odd a week.  Nothing to do with eldest being 20 as the rate applies to 3+ children.  No wonder I can't afford to take them out.

I know I'm being a cow.  Really great at work though as the 'new' girl completely understands Laughing

You're neither a b*tch nor a cow Sparkling. Why should you have to pay for the petrol. He is wanting to see them, cannot fit them in his car, so has asked eldest to take his. Where on earth does he think eldest has the money from? I left a message in your other thread, as didn't know if he was taking them to see their Grandad or not, now I know hehe.

I've got to write an annual review on the one to one child, then have a meeting with the Head, Senco, boy's Mum. Aarrgghhh. No hint of how to write one up, just something on a piece of paper. I've spoken to another TA that has been there years, and asked if she could guide me on it.

I wonder if you could google to see if there's a template?  That's not going to be easy...

They've gone to the cinema.  He's never taken them to see his Dad, even when we were married.

I'm going to go in a minute as I'm just picking up the phone and putting it back down in case she's sleeping.

I need to get some diesel on the way.  I'm trying to keep the car full (filled it over three weeks, just in case!), so no point letting it drop down to the quarter tank it usually is.  Hope you're ok...

Hope everyone has a peaceful evening.

I've hit the cider.  The Git didn't give any petrol money and J even asked!  Honestly, b**tard doesn't start to cover it.  I have no money at all to help with J now, and I'm so broke each month compared to November.

I will tell him!

I'm so blazingly mad, I really am.

So upset as MiL phoned after 8pm, and so has my 'other' next door neighbour!  Phoned both, but no reply of course (that was 10pm)

I'll have a migraine tomorrow now as I'm so worked up.

Sparkling, it puts me in mind of my friend whose husband left. His name began with P and he became known as P the B (you can guess the rest!) After he left, he did worse and worse things and we would always say "we never thought anything he would do would surprise us but..." and he always thought of something else. In the end we thought "nothing, no matter how terrible will ever surprise us" ...and this is where you are at right now. How LOW, not to even give some petrol money, whoops don't worry, it grows on  a tree in sparkling's back garden! Cool

Hope your head is not too bad this morning,

Hazeleyes, well done to you!! There are so many misconceptions about the benefit system and the figure of 21k (where did they get 25k from?) has been bandied around the media lately, causing a lot of unrest. Just think to yourself, they were not the ones walking around with holes in their boots! Good luck with the report, I am sure the other TA can guide you.

Hopeful, you can have more than one browser on your computer, I have three! So you can keep your IE for Uni and just download one of the others for other sites.

Hope everyone will have a good day, I will be back later Smile

I actually don't have a headache!

I know I shouldn't swear, but I could honestly deck him.  It's just why do they "have" to take them to the cinema?  A pub meal would probably cost less (the cinema is 32 miles away), and they could chat.  I'm guessing the chatting is the problem... Easier watching a film.  When they used to go to their house when they lived locally, it was always to watch a film.  Sixteen year old isn't bothered about watching films!

He couldn't even modify his behaviour at a difficult time like this either.

Sorry to moan though.  And I'm sorry for the language, but I do think its justified... (will edit if you want me too Laughing )

What you say about P the B Louise; yes, I am at that stage. Kiss

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with sparklinglimes thread hopeful, did you find out if you do have IE9, you can go to Help and then About and you can find out.

Good luck with your annual review hazeleyes, have you done it now? also well done for standing your ground and sticking up for the 'single parent crew'!

It is a shame that your ex couldn't take the kids out for a meal, or bowling, or anything that has interaction sparklinglime, maybe he is scared of them!

I am a bit poorly today, sore throat, hot and cold flushes, feeling a bit rotten, but will wrap up and put a film on shortly and indulge myself  rather than fight it.

Awww Anna, hope you're feeling better soon. So much of this is going around, a few of the staff were complaining of your symptoms today. Can you take tomorrow off? Snuggle up on the settee, and enjoy the film.

Sparkling, just posted in your thread. I'm deeply sorry about your FIL. He's at peace, out of his breathing discomfort, so hopefully knowing that will help the children too, though of course too early for them to consider looking at it like this. Bad enough for adults, let alone kids. xxxxxx

Hope you've all had a good day. MIne wasn't too bad, feet are burning like crazy. Too much walking. You'd think with all that 25k I had for years, I could afford some decent boots eh Wink I've a few weeks do get the review done, so I'm starting to jot some notes down, and I shall speak to the teacher too for some advice.

Evening all. Louise, did you manage to do the dreaded A's? I think I am sort of settling in at school now, though of course I'm still shattered and want to flop down when I'm through the front door. Everything has been sliding lately, cleaning wise I mean. I tidy, then two days later the flat looks like a bomb has hit it. I'm sure I have visitors when C and I aren't here, hehe.

I think you will continue tired for a while, Hazeleyes, but if you think about how pink grapefuit did over a year or so then things really changed for her, I am sure that will be the same for other people too. One thing that worked for me re the cleaning was to set aside two definite times per week, obvious this depends on your schedule. Anyway the first one was a zoom through the whole house, I put aside two hours for this and knew everything was right, the second time, three or four days later I would spend an hour, and hoover the lounge, clean the bathroom and loo and have a whizz round the kitchen, DONE, and no need to feel guilty, if it was messy so what, I knew it was clean Innocent and then have myself "permission" to relax the rest of the time.

I did NOTHING on the accounts yesterday. My internet was on and off, very annoyingly and so some of my work I was doing offline then having to whizz it all on as the connection worked again. I also spent some time doing a Victor letter to my Internet provider!! Tongue Out So the accounts beckon today once more.

How is everyone today?

Have been sorting, bit of cleaning, washing, now I'm sitting. For a while at least. Have called Charity shop as I do have a lot of stuff that needs to go, and as I don't have transport, thought they could pick it up. Am waiting on a call back, as had to leave message. Going to look online for those bags that you suck in with hoover, so saving lots of space. Sick of black bags with duvets, pillow cases, C's teddies from younger years, but cannot throw away, and various other stuff. Eyes are heavy, so could easily have a nap, but should I, shan't I? Massive question hehe.

Hope everyone is okay. Take care. x

Hi everyone.

Finally getting back on top of things. Managed to get an infection after my 'procedure', then had a reaction to the antibiotics I was put on, so ended up at the hospital last week. Nice doctor put me on some much nicer ones that didn't make me itch all over and feel rotten. J was a little star all the while I was ill, so got treated to a dustbin lorry from tesco which he is over the moon with. If anything goes missing now its in the dustbin lorry!

Sparkling, so sorry to hear about your FIL. Hope you are taking care of yourself while worrying about everyone else.

Louise, well done on the accounts. Would you like to come and fill in my tax credits form? Pretty please?

Hazeleyes, I get the same visitors that you get. We leave the house in a morning and when we come home at night I am shocked by how bad it looks! I have done nothing today, went out with friends for lunch and one of friends came back with me and has only just gone. Oh well, unless the cleaning and ironing fairies visit overnight it will still be there tomorrow!

Anna, hope you are feeling much better.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend. I'm picking J up from his dads tomorrow, not sure if new girlfriend will be there or not!! We're meeting friends for lunch, going back to their house and then we're going to meet a few of the ladies from work with their children at a playcentre. Really looking forward to it, but will probably be shattered tomorrow night Laughing

Well, I've ordered some vacuum bags, so all the black bags containing spare pillows and duvets, plus the teddies will be a thing of the past. Just stuff them in the bags and watch them sucked up!! Living room is a sight for sore eyes. Clutter on the settees and floor, but I'm managing to step over it hehe. I shall push everything behind the settee, and hey presto, a tidy room! Not started the ironing yet, but have peeled the spuds Smile Friday friend came over yesterday (minus son). Her and the partner had a row last Sunday over me ringing to make sure she got home okay etc. I told her he is an ignorant pig Cool Anyhow, that row resulted in her inviting all of her family over today (totally unheard of, as this causes rows with him). She's asked C and I to go too, but I've told C that I can't go somewhere when I know for a fact that there will be an atmosphere, and anyway the son will have his cousin there, so that's another reason.

Glad you got everything sorted and filed away Louise. Enjoy your afternoon in the peace and quiet.

Am throwing you some more hours Hopeful. Enjoy your day.

I don't blame you for not going.  I wouldn't either.

I have the rucksacks, sleepingbags etc in vac-bags.  The one with the rucksacks, for some unkown reason decided it didn't want to be a vac bag any more and has fallen off the top of the cupboard!  Storage in this house, is very good to be fair.  Have threatened to suck the living daylights out of daughter's and youngest's cuddly toys and 'look no nails' them to the wall, but they won't agree.

I think it would be funny.

I have a new keyboard.  The letters had worn off the old one.  I am, however, realising why this was half-price.  Its like using a manual type writer to get the keys to register.

Hi all thanks for your well wishes Smile I was going to have a relaxing weekend, but because I was feeling better, I spent Saturday clearing cupboard on the stairs - now have about 8 bags all ready for a car boot sale - when I get to do it though I don't know!! Then Sunday I did the cupboard under the stairs - another 6 bags. Had supper and watched Britains Got Talent on ITV player - awwwww Malachai - what a cutie - had me sobbing!

Have woken up today feeling dreadful again, think I overdid it over the weekend, but hopefully this is the last of it.

Looby, so sorry to hear that you got an infection, but great to hear that your little boy coped well.

Hopeful, well done for starting your presentation - here are a few extra hours for you for achieving this!

sparklinglime it sounds like you have been busy cleaning too - don't overdo it this week. I remember all too well learning to type on a typewriter - it doesn't seem so long ago, but my daughter thinks its hilarious!

Starting another module on Thursday, too, about Leadership and Management of others. Looking forward to that one.

Daugher was very upset with me yesterday for not spending any time with her. So today we're cooking dinner together (it's in the oven now). :-)
