I read that boys, starting from about 9 years old, will start asking for designer clothes. So far so good with C. Doubt he'd even know what they were. Not from me anyway hehe

For the young ones have you tried clarks web site  and signed up for the news letter you do get some good deals and you can order online and collect in store where they are check for fitting and you can send them back you also pay for them in store, as for the eldest go to sports direct they have some good trendy stuff our boys love the jeans from there.

i would also say D2 jeans site but they have gone bust they were mega trendy and cheap just thought a store called Blue Inc reasonable prices and your local freecycle site

we have been lucky too the two eldest havent bothered but the 13 year old he is a different story

Mine are old now for Clarke's anyway, so happily no longer something to feel bad about.

C's fault, but have to admit to turning over to the footy - and don't even like footy, and I'm Welsh...!  Wayne Rooney scored.  Shows they need him.

You are going to be sooooooooo proud of me!!!! I have finished the dreaded horrid essay!!!!! And I sent it to the tutor to check before I hand it in tomorrow and she said it was much better than my last effort and even gave me a couple of tips how to improve it a bit more (she only should read an A4 page, but she read ALL, I think I love her!) which I put in, too. Yay!!! Laughing

On the subject of designer clothes: No1 son and No2 son are totally not bothered as long as they have something to wear even if there are holes in it. No3 son is an absolute nightmare: he claims he will get beaten up if he turns up in a Tesco's t-shirt. Daughter is more about quantity than anything else, she just likes to have loads of clothes....

OK GUYS AND GALS

Many of you have "little names" for your ex partners and we know that you do not let the children hear you using them, I would just ask you to be a little restrained in using them, please...partly because children read this site, if not your own then someone else's.

Hello one and all, it's been busy in here and it sounds as if you have all sorted out your children's shoes! Wink

Hopeful we are indeed very proud of you!! what a relief. what are you going to do to relax now? (apart from watch the footy Cool)

Hazeleyes, when does C break up? are there some "normal" weeks after this activity week?

Sparkling are you in the office this week?

I saw the Olympic torch yesterday HOORAY and can I have a quick boast, my eldest got his degree result and has a 2:1 so we are all thrilled to bits Laughing

Oh, Louise,  you must be so proud!!!!! Well done on having brought up such a clever child!!!

I will be starting on the next essay (there's always one more) which is in patches, so not due till January, but if I do the patches as I go along the module I hopefully won't get so stressed out about this one. Also I have a disertation to research.

Pash02 the shops you are suggesting are way 'not good enough' for No3 son. My daughter loves the shop beginning with a P and then there's another really cheap one she likes. She is not really the problem anyway.

Sparkling, Hazeleyes, lrh, angel and everyone, what are you all doing? Have you got the same sunshine as I???

Hopeful he's not a "Duffer" patron is he?

I took my eldest there once jeans were £75 and he still has not worn them 7 months later.

Firebrand jeans? D2 was the same stuff but a tad cheaper.  i would of thought Blue inc would be up his street though.

Pash02 what are the links? If they are to charities/support groups that help victims of DV then they are probably Ok. What we can't post includes things for profit and things with a particularly political agenda.

Hopeful, did you definitely decide on the dissertation topic?

How about DV for a dissertation topic? or is this too controversial?

I think it will be good just so long it includes men as vitims too.

Louise, I'm absolutely thrilled.  Congratulations to your son.  xxxx

I'm off today, and in doing wages tomorrow morning.  Been to see my aunty this morning, and daughter came too.  Sixteen year old at college today, so am now clock watching.  Daughter is in college tomorrow, but a different site to sixteen year old...  Just hope my reminder is right and she wasn't due in today as we can't find the letter Surprised

Booked car in for service on Friday.  Drooling over the new 208, and my friend came out from the back and said I can't have one.  I struggle getting out of the 308, so need one that's higher.  So, I'm sulking - or really upset, not sulking - disability has definitely got worse this year.  After cub camp even thought.  Might have to be a mobility car as I don't think I can afford to buy the one that's suitable...

I remind myself that it's only pain, but the restrictiveness is such a nuisance.

There is a new i30 coming out soon also all better than Pugs in my opion

ps did a stint on selling Hyundia's and its the santa fe she fell in love with.

Thanks Pash.  Sticking to a local garage though.  I know them well, and they always do what they can to help too.  They'll come and get the car if I can't get out the house, and always find a courtesy car if I need one.

I certainly don't have £25k though Cool  Although did have a top of the range people carrier (long wheel base) when I was married... And worked darned hard to pay for it Laughing  The car I have now is a base model with £30 tax.  Needs must and all that...

Sparkling, what do you mean you don't have 25k? I'm shocked at thisTongue Out

lrh, Looby, Christian, how are you all doing?

Pash, the dangerous driving by foster carers. Who has given you this information, or have you witnessed it? Not sure what you can do regarding the passports? My friend is a foster carer, and has always taken the children abroad. Am wondering if it makes any difference if the child has been taken into care, or whether the child was put there voluntarily by the parent. Which is the case with your ex?

Hi lrh. Yes, I agree, it is indeed busy, busy, busy. We've got weeks of it Frown Only Wednesday, and I'm dead on my feet, so to speak. Had an awful afternoon with the children, and the attitude on some of these 9/10 year olds is unbelievable. I am so envious of you finishing next week, but delighted at the same time for you. Hi

Louise, well done to your son for his degree result. Hopeful, well done on the essay! Big wave to everyone else. Any offers to cut my grass gratefully accepted. One of the things I do miss ex for Wink

Have been to look round a play scheme today for when J starts school in September. It was one of my options instead of a childminder and I'm pleased I heard about it because J loved it! We walked in to be shown around and he was chatting to the staff straight away, kept going to look at what various groups of children were doing and he asked loads of questions. He can be shy at first so it was really nice to see. He really wants to go there after school because 'Mummy, they have a pool table!' He is so easily pleased my son.

Guinea pigs have settled in well. They are coping well with J's heavy handed ministrations and we get lots of chatter when we walk near the cage. J talks back to them which is very sweet.

Right thats it for me. Night night all

Hello everyone

Yes you all sound busy, busy! LRH did you find any good number quizzes? I had a quick look online but so far have only found the sort of thing they do in Maths classes anyway. Bet you are getting tired with the whirl of activity. What have you got planned for whe the girls are away?

Pash02 have a great time with your daughter...remember calm, positive and fun Wink

Looby that is fantastic that J liked the playscheme, you will feel happier knowing he is there, The guinea pigs have settled in well, then. My friend has a number of them and won the local radio station pet of the year award last Christmas with a photo of one of her with a little red hat on, perched on a mini Christmas sledge.

Hopeful, Christian, how are you today?

Sparkling, yes the car business....very, very annoying to have to have your options restricted like this. Have you found out the ins and outs of the Motability scheme? I know it is not brilliant. My friend (who uses an electric wheelchair) had a long haul getting something to suit him with all the rules and regs and also he had to have so many adaptations. Did everything go ok for your 16 year old yesterday? In the office to do the wages today, well you might find out some news.

My treat of the day will be a posh coffee, am meeting two friends in town a bit later Smile

Enjoy your posh coffee Smile Are you planning any celebrations with your older son?

Stupid legs, back, neck and shoulder... And knuckles... Cool  I'm grateful for the DLA as without a car I'd be stuck in the house.  I phoned the motability help line yesterday for a chat.  The bit I'll sulk most about is that I think I may need an automatic.  I like changing gear!  I don't need adaptations at the moment.

Very black here this morning.  I can see I'm going to get soaked going to the car.  The car that has my coat in the boot Surprised

Yes, the coat is no good in the boot, Pash!

Sparkling, you were asking about a celebration. Son was supposed to be coming on Friday, he now tells me that his grandparents are descending that day so he has been summoned to see them. He can't remember if it is here or in York. If it is here then he will come over once he has seen them and I will ask what he wants to do Smile It seems likely it will be here as their son (boys' dad) is also here; as some of you know, he is now in a residential home due to severe mental health problems.

Anyway sparkling I hope you have better weather than us, it has been bouncing off the pavements here Surprised My posh coffee was so lovely that I had two (only small ones though, so I could get home without legs too firmly crossed Embarassed)

LRH, that is good  about your plans. Maybe you could also think of things you couldn't do if you had the girls.....weird things that you like eating, music they hate, keep your own hours etc. I always sing a lot when I am on my own because when sons are here, they say "Muuum!"
