Hi yes, gradually building up the amount of lengths I do. There were five toddlers and a baby with two of us to look after them so we managed OK.
Good luck for tomorrow, Skyflower.
Hope you all have a decent week and see you on Saturday
I hope all goes well tomorrow Skyflower.
I hope you sat in the garden Louise.
Iv'e had a migraine today. Glad it wasn't yeterday...
Thinking of you today skyflower
I've had a lovely weekend. Went to my sis in laws for dinner and sleep over sat night and ended up staying most of sunday. It was so relaxing. The girls were fussed over enormously which they loved. I feel so refreshed today.
No more Glis Glis, although there is one visiting as the bait in the trap is being eaten! Not sure what to do about that. Will call the pestman today and see what he thinks.
Sorry I missed you this weekend louise, have a good week.
Thank you so for your support, it was awful to be honest today, yesterday I did not feel too bad as I kept drinking powerrade as well, so I was not nearly as weak as before.
This was the first time there were actually no polyps, which is such a good sign and its not diverticulitis either, I will have to go back to GP as it is not going away and there is no cancer or anything. I am now thinking it might have been all the stress but I also have not been eating properly for a long time, so I am going to take really good care of myself, eating salads, drinking smoothies and lots of probiotics and it might do the trick, thanks for being in my handbag today, as it was not nice
Glad you had everyone in your handbag skyflower, it can be so difficult having to go for procedures on your own! It must be a relief that nothing untoward is going on
Sounds like you had a great weekend PQ, hope your able to catch your evasive visitor!
How are you today sparkling is the migraine gone?
I want to see the Belle movie Louise, some colleagues went to see it last week and i as unable to go, hoping to get a friend to go with me this weekend!
Hi clevermummy, hope you had a good weekend!
Hope you enjoy your trip to Glastonbury Anna, you will have to give us the run down when your back!
I had a fairly good weekend L had a sleepover on Friday night and they wanted to campout in the garden which worked out really well, all were a sleep by 11.30pm, went walking on Saturday and now have an uneven tan (strap marks) L is into the Loom bands to she has those scented ones!
Hope everyone has a good evening
ooo a new kind of loom bands, haven't heard of that one yet ! Glad you had such a good time Sally and that you look tanned, even if it is a bit uneven.
Sparkling how is it with you today ? hope you feel better, I am feeling so much better tonight,
Hope you can manage that last gliss gliss PQ, if it is the last....maybe it has learned from the others, I hope you get some good advice and that you can find out where they come in, your weekend sounded really good, glad you had such a good time
Have a nice evening all,
Good Morning All,
Glad your feeling better skyflower, are you able to eat normally now or do you still have to follow a specific diet?
Hope your all enjoying the lovely weather we shall be of to the park after school today, L is practicing going no hands on her bike!
Yes I can eat normally now, Sally, its just not ok with my digestive system so I am going back to GP and I have ordered probiotics online, to see if I can cure my intestines. It is beautiful but am home as kids both have a tummybug, hope you have a great time at the park, its so nice to be outside, I will be in the garden, hope L managed no hands on her bike !
So glad thats all behind you skyflower and the news was good, although being left with the same symptoms can't be 'good' but you know what I mean?
I've had a fretful 24hrs. H has had horrific tummy pains, I took her to the dr this morning who was querying appendicitis or kidney stones. She suggested I kept her at home for a few more hours before making a decision about what to do. Thankfully as the afternoon has gone they have stopped and she was feeling much better. The Dr rang me and thinks it has probably passed, whatever it was, I'm so relieved
Hi Sally, hope you enjoyed the park. The glis don't seem to have come back. The trap has been left alone for 2 nights on the trot so hopefully they've gone. I was laughing at work saying that hopefully word has got around in the glis world. My loft must be like the bermuda triangle
Hi all!
Ahh Skyflower that's good about the all clear, but a pain for a lack of any diagnosis, maybe it's something like crohns disease? A friend thinks she might have it and is waiting for her diagnosis hehe I have a weird digestive system too, but probably just need to maintain a high fibre diet :-/
Glad the glis seem to have vacated now PQ :-) hope He is feeling better!
Sally hope L had fun and stuff :-)
Sounds like your swimming is going well Louise :-)
Sparkling, hope you've been feeling better too!
I did indeed have a splendid weekend, thank you Sally, I stayed at my nan's on Friday and as I had a surprise forwarded amount of Child Tax credits, I ordered myself a few needed home bargains, a cross trainer, a refurbished Hoover and an over the door hanging shoe sorter :-) all for £120!!! Then went shopping with my aunt on the Saturday to buy a new dress for a wedding I'm going to this coming weekend, and had a date Saturday night, went quite well, I think I'll see him again, he's very metal, but very sweet :') so far..... lol Sunday we eventually made it to Hyde Park for a picnic with L, as loads of trains were cancelled cos of signal failures, so had to take a longer detour, didn't get home until 8 ish! !! Then looked after O Monday and took him to playgroup with sprog :-)
I'm meant to be watching O again tomorrow but I'm worried I might have got conjunctivitis today, gonna see how it goes overnight. .... really need the money!!!
Hope everyone's week has got off to a good start :-)
xXx
Migraine has gone thank you. A fuzzy head yesterday, but ok today.
Working all this week, covering part time hours. I had a housing association meeting this evening, so it seems to have been a long day.
I think today was the last nice day for us...
I hope everyone is ok.
H is much better today and back at school.
Had a traumatic event last night. A glis glis got into my bathroom through the window! I was woken at 3am by noises, I thought I was being burgled again! When I went to investigate there it was jumping around, having a good old nose through my toiletries!!
Glad you're feeling better sparkling.
that made me laugh out loud! I had to go and look up what a glis glis is, as we don't normally see very many of those on One Space. So what happened in the end, did it just go away or did you have to catch it? Maybe it would make a good pet, they are very cute! Apparently it was a delicacy in roman times (amazing what you can learn from Wikipedia)
Thanks sergiozed,
I agree they are cute but once you've been hassled by them as long as I have any thought of making them into a pet soon vanishes! Last night I shooed it out the window, aparently they can jump 3 metres so I'm assuming it made it ok.
My childminder has been off this week with tonsilitis, its made things very difficult, especially as I'm really busy at work this week. I don't meen to sound uncaring, she very rarely has time off sick. Having the day off yesterday hasn't helped either. My annual leave is rapidly disappearing and I'm only 2 1/2 months in to this financial year.
The glis glis would annoy me! My cats cause enough chaos without any added fun.
Glad H is better.
It's been a long hard week at work.
Hello everyone, glad to catch up with all your news.
First of all glad there was nothing sinister, Skyflower, and I do understand the procedure must have been awful, poor you. I wonder if you have IBS? Hope the GP can help and you can find an eating plan that suits you and settles things down.
Sparkling, this week has been hard work for you, hope you can get some relaxation over the weekend.
CM12 your life is as action-packed as ever, nice to treat yourself as well.
PQ what a shock to see a GG in the house, eek! They are obviously "in the area" What did the pestman say? How scary about H's pain, hope that's it over and done with. Fingers crossed for your childminder getting better too.
Sally, glad to hear you have been getting out and about. I think I will wait till Belle comes on my pay-to-view telly thing. As for the rain, it is all the fault of Glasto! Hope Anna has taken her wellies. Rudimentary Mary is there too, I wonder if they will bump into each other?
The highlight of my week was...an opera evening. I went with two friends to an Italian restaurant in town and in between each course three singers entertained us with opera arias and songs from Les Mis and South Pacific. It was ace! What a lovely treat. My boys are both off to Birmingham this weekend as it is their grandad's 80th, they are not looking forward to it at all but know they have to go. I will feel nervous until I know they have got there safely: both zooming down the motorway (eldest is driving)
Hope you will all have a good day. What plans?
How is everyone today?
As you know, my boys are away...apparently the youngest has been up being sick (and worse) all night. The only difference in what the two of them have had to eat is that the youngest had a giant slice of the family birthday cake. If this is the culprit everyone else in the family will have been ill as well Eldest is the driver and I have suggested a plan to cater for en route vomiting. Oh dear.
Oh no! I am sorry that the youngest is poorly.
I'm glad you enjoyed the opera evening. Having been to a few musical evenings this year, you really can't beat it...
Yesterday was an awful day, and the day the store where my son worked closed. It has been building up to it all week. He's been needing loads of hugs - even if he is 22!
He went to work without saying goodbye. He finally sent a text to say all the stock had gone. So I drove over there. All the staff outside, laughing and crying. I parked up and got out the car. He just walked up to me and threw himself in my arms. I could deal with that. I expected that. Then I went to shake the manager's hand and thank him for all the support and guidance he's given J.
The manager was in tears. Couldn't believe this day had come. He had made this store profitable and the best in the region. Yet none of that mattered. He has no job to go to. A family to keep and a mortgage to pay. That just broke me.
So yesterday was an awful day. Just so upset for this man - who I'd never really spoken to before, other than a hello as I passed him in the store.
The last month or so has been difficult.
I really have found life too hard to face. And I feel bad that I feel down! I do have someone who is so supportive. I shouldn't.
But the eighteen year old has finished his college work and hopefully will now stop frowning, stomping about the place and disappearing (he has autism/asperger's).
Daughter should get her work complete by Tuesday. Hopefully getting the points she needs to go to the local university.
I have finally had permission to fit the kitchen. So all the cupboards and the hob and oven can now be sorted. My positive point from the closing of my store, as the supervisor of the kitchen department told me to look at it yesterday...
Today I have woken up without that sick feeling. I hope that I can now tick these things off mentally and feel better.
Sorry for the long and miserable post.
The sun is shining here.
I hope you all have a good day.
So sorry to hear about your son and maybe your family Louise, I do hope all will recover soon, how awful, it hurts so much when you are ill like that. Luckily he has you as a mother.
O Sparklinglime, how sad to have to go through those things. Can't believe they close a good store. I am glad you have someone so supportive, as you are a very supportive person yourself and you do deserve someone that supports you, as we all do. So glad you can have your kitchen finally fitted, that has taken a long time and great you are feeling a bit better, Sparkling, hopefully up to a better week.
Here kids are getting better, finally, after a week with a tummybug, though my eldest is still so weak in his legs, as he has the coeliac disease and always takes a lot longer to recover than anyone else. This year he has been off school a litlle too often, but they haven't said anything, thank God.
With the probiotics which I have taken now 4 days, my tummy seems finally a bit better, I am starting to be hopeful about it and thanks Louise, if it doesn't get much better I will ask my GP about IBS. Hope everyone has a nice weekend
Hello again, there seems to be a lot of sore tums, glad you are feeling better Skyflower and wishing your son better too. My boy is now home and in bed, the travel lodge was very helpful and kindly gave them a plastic bowl for the journey, he was sick once on the way back. Eldest dashed off as he has girlfriend's parents coming for tea. It was their dad's family they were with and everyone else seems well.
Sparking, how horrid for your son and how great that you were there for him. Economic realities are so harsh and as you say, it was a profitable store anyway. And our children are never too old for hugs Glad that things are looking a bit brighter, there are some real positives to focus on now and I do hope your son will find something soon.
Swimming later
Hi everyone,
Big hug for you sparkling, glad you felt a bit lighter today xx
There do seem to be a lot of tummy bugs about at the moment.
Hi Louise hope you enjoy your swim today.
I've had a good weekend. Had an unexpected couple of hours in the pub yesterday afternoon with the people from football. Today I've been tackling some 'frogs'. A wanted some pocket money so she cleaned out the shed and I sorted through the things, chucked a lot out, put some up on freecycle and put the rest back. I've also been washing the loose covers on the sofa, I dread to think how long its been since they were last washed.....
The glis are still at large! I'm sure it jumps extra loud on the cage to wake me and let me know is eating the bait and getting out again!!! I spoke to 'pest man' and he said to put lots of apple in and see what happens.....well nothing happened apart from the glis must be getting fat!! I'm going to see if we can switch cage to see if that helps.
Oh good luck with it PQ, it is proving very naughty and resistant. But well done for tackling some frogs Great that you enjoyed some time with the friends from football!
My swim was good, that's the last one till September so I will have to find some quiet times to go over the summer.
I am off on hols for the next couple of weekends, so will tell you all about that when I get back and look forward to catching up with all your news then...take care everyone!
Too late to say have a good time Louise... I do hope you enjoy the break.
Yesterday was a good one. Son starts his new job today. Those who have been lucky in being taken on by the company taking over the site are going into another store for training together this morning.
Sorry the glis glis are still being a pain pq. Glad your daughter helped. Eighteen year old has finished college, and today should be tidying their bedroom (the three boys share the main bedroom). Shall we place bets as to whether it gets done or not...
It's a lovely morning here. I have a meeting at work this morning, although can't quite decide why this housing association is coming in... They have another company who do the work they're coming to talk about, although we have been doing bits and pieces for them. So curious about this one... Like I always end up doing health and safety stuff, I'm not quite sure why I end up doing these meetings.
Skyflower, I hope everyone is better with you.
Hope you have all had a good day
Great news about your son starting his new job sparkling, were you right to be curious about your meeting today?
Sorry to hear about your youngest Louise hope he gets over it swiftly, where are you off to Louise anywhere exciting?
Sounds like your weekend was better than the start of your week PQ, looks like you have got quite abit accomplished too.
Glad to hear your boys are on the mend skyflower.
L did enjoy the park though she did not quite manage the no hands, she did have an accident the following day with the bike and has not been able to ride it, Thankfully nothing was broken just some bruising to her collarbone and a strain in her shoulder, she is feeling much better now. I tackled the front garden at the weekend, loads of rubbish in the shrubs.
Oh dear Sally, I hope L hasn't been put off?
Just a pretty average day here.
awww, she must have had a fright Sally.
No idea why we had the meeting this morning. Took 90 minutes out of my day, and what they wanted could have been discussed over the phone with a 10 minute call! Finished an hour late to play catch up, but had to go then to catch the post. Pleased to say the ice cream van came round. Had to put the phone on mute to yell at one of the engineers to go and get me one!
One of my daughter's gerbils died. Two years and seven months, so they're doing well. A gerbil funeral was held earler. She's quite fond of her gerbils, so there were tears.
Had tea with my friend, which was nice. Back here to watch football with the youngest.
Oldest started his new job, and was quite unhappy by the end of the morning. A few texts flying back and forth. The afternoom was bette. He showed me his new polo shirt in disgust. Very bright compared to the formality of his Homebase one... He'll get used to it. he'll have to!
No shes not been put off, i think she was more embarrassed than anything as she was showing off in front of friends, also as she had to take her t shirt of so the nurse at the hospital could look at her shoulder properly (been getting more concious of her body lately).
Glad your sons first day went well sparkling, sad about the gerbils, we don't get many ice cream vans around here which is such a shame they would probably do pretty well out of it!
Hope you all have a good day, it is set to be sunny here
My son is hitting a bit of a crisis. Been there before with him, and was sort of ready, but hopeful... He's devastated at the loss of his Homebase family.
He'll start talking soon, hopefully.
I didn't win the lottery, so off to work.
I hope your daughter is ok Sally.
Morning,
Sorry your son is finding it hard sparkling, sounds like you know what is needed.
Another beautiful day here
haha, yes I did explain that wrong, she is over the moon to have her own shutters,
Louise what a beautiful and touching movie that is, thank you so much for the trailer link. Don't know when I get the results, they will explain it tomorrow I guess.
What a tough night you had Louise, hope you managed all the young children and had a good swim despite it, have a lovely day all
