Thats a shame hazeleyes, no point making yourself ill though.
I remember my sil getting a dog, she did loads of research as she had quite a lot of issues. She finally found what she was looking for, paid a vast amount of money for this puppy only to find she was allergic to it...luckily the breader took it back and gave her the money back!
Don't feel bad, you gave it a go
hi pancake queen aw wish i was goin watchin olly murs, is it at men in manchester, i like olly murs love his songs, x
Aww hazeleyes I feel your pain, my mum worked for the rspca years ago she used to foster them (dispite my allergies) They are very good at taking them back. Im sure for a few days its will seem strange but your health has to come 1st.
Ive got the office cold AGAIN sick of these office illnesses. I sit with hand sanitiser on my desk and thinking of issuing them to everyone.
Just getting used to my new very low tec phone I can not just about send messages and use watsapp but saving me a fortune
No snow here thankfully but very cold forgot my cardi today so sat in the office in my dress freezing i knew i should have worn my suit.
Hope all are well
HM
Hi Kiera, yes we're off to Manchester. Staying the night in a hotel so should have a good time. The girls are very excited, the tickets were my xmas present to them. I quite like Olly Murrs too which helps.
aw theres sum nice hotels in manchester, have really good timex
That sounds brilliant.
Yoo hoo and toodle yooo! I am sorry ladies (and any silent gents) I am rushing to get a colleague to the hair dressers! I hope you are all well?
hazeleyes, I am glad you have been proactive and made the decision that was right for you and C.
pq, have a super gig,
sparkling, have a good evening with your friends.
Hi to everyone else, be back to chat tomorrow
Good evening!
Good morning and I hope everyone is well. Happy mamma how is your cold?
PQ the concert does sound fab! I like Olly too (think he is one of those artists who appeal to all ages) Let us know how the souvenir money challenge goes!
Hazeleyes I hope you and C have come to terms with the decision you have had to make. I know the hamster was a bit of a nightmare but maybe you could think about a less stressful pet? Anyway I am not a pet person myself as you know so I have every empathy with you.
It's icy here.....brrr but BRACE YOURSELVES for the next lot of snow, have seen an ominous forecast this morning. Had a giggle with youngest last night, his light shade was really really dusty so we took it down and he hoovered it on the landing while I was wildly embroidering info about where the dust had come from, not just from him but any GIRLS that had been in his room and what if he got it all over his head? He was laughing so much but I have so say the light is brighter with a clean shade!!
The Scouts are meant to be planting saplings on Saturday morning - at least I can sit warm in the car and watch!! The snow is sort of coming this way, but we usually get away with it.
I recommend a hot water bottle, sparking. I have got one of those wheat bags but it only gets disappointingly warm. I am going to see if I can get a HWB today, have been so hot for years that it is a novelty to need one
hi well sunny and windy ere today, got all washin out, 2 lines full, got get my boys washin dun today, they go away tomoz til monday , to wales with familyx im in middle potty training, no accidents yetx
Well the challenge is proving to be successful, no issues with either of them so far. Its been really nice to have such a harmonious house
Its really cold here today, I'm assuming it will be even colder up in Manchester tomorrow. When will the warm weather return???? My Hottie has been used to death this winter!
Good luck with the potty training kiera. And I do hope your boys will have a lovely weekend away, are they breaking up school tomorrow?
PQ we will have to call your house Jane Austen Manor! Seriously I do believe you have found what motivates them. That is a major parenting tool, finding that out, it can be different for different children.
He he...it is a bit like a period drama round here at the moment, but you're right, I seem to have found the thing that motivates them to ne nice to each other...hope they can carry it on after the Olly Murrs concert
I think I'd be good forever for an Olly Murrs concert!!
Have a fantastic time at the concert Pq. Am sure the girls will be so excited, they won't be squabbling at all.
So, things will be back to normal here once I've thoroughly cleaned everywhere. The little darling was taken back yesterday (when C was at school) He has been absolutely brilliant about it all, bless him. We had her for such a short time, that C even commented that everything here is exactly the same, and he does like it. Have to say, I did get upset getting her into the basket, but she settled straight down to her old pal (another cat that she'd shared with before) C and I totally made the right decision, and there will be no more animals in here, not even fish!!
School is not great for some of the staff, and it's an awful atmosphere. Such upset, caused by one person. I think I'm in the firing line today, as I missed a lesson with her and my 1-1 lad. Actually the kids tricked me, and by the time teacher and I realised, we were half way through our lesson, so whoops, sorry Miss hehe. Someone has handed notice in, so all is not good.
Shall catch up in here properly later, right now, got to do our lunches. Very windy outside, and don't want to venture out. Who has pressed the stop button for Spring??
Well it wasn't me, Hazeleyes Snow here again with a vengeance, eek. Glad you got everything sorted with Smartie. You can tell C that it was just like she had a holiday with you. Good luck with The Woman at school today.
PQ after Olly Murs there will be something else that involves money. Phone top ups? pocket money?
Sparkling you will have to have a pinup of Olly on your bedroom wall Seriously who DID you used to have on your bedroom wall when you were a teenager? Mine was David Cassidy and my Mum's was Bing Crosby hahahaha.
Hope everyone is Ok today (wonder how Hopeful got on with the essay?) and can cope with the yukkity yukk weather
I was a Donny Osmond and Starsky & Hutch gal....
We don't have snow (not that I'm trying to rub it in or anything Louise)
I was into Howard Jones!!!
Was snowing when I got up but has stopped now, hope the weather is kind for our journey to Manchester.
Sparkling if I find a life size cardboard cutout of Olly I'll hide it under my coat for you
Better get ready...
hi its snowin here but not stickin on ground, well my boys gon away now til monday, they have all warm clothes, they gona need it, but the caravan has heating in every room, giv them 40 spendin money for treats, just me and my little girl, got my food shopin delivered today so dont have to go out, x enjoy the olly murs concertx
Aww kiera I am excited for your weekend I hope you have a lovely one.
pq, have a super concert and long may your little angels remain cherubic!
sparkling, we don't have snow either! So c'mon which was your fav, Starsky or Hutch?!
hazeleyes, I am glad things at home feel back to normal and 'right', a new lesson learnt, you don't do animals!! I hope school wasn't too bad today, I bet you are grateful for the weekend though!
My pin up was Adam and the Ants and Prince phwoaaarrrrr! I've never understood my attraction to Prince, because if I met him in a club or at a friends house I wouldn't look twice, even if he sang to me, but c'mon girls phwwwooooaarrrrrr!!!
Ha ha, my mums pin up was Cliff Richard, heee heee hee that still tickles me now!!
Have a great weekend one and all!
my pin up was bros, duran duran, spandau ballet, aw i loved martin kemp, lolx
My pin ups were Donny Osmond (when he sang, it was purely for me!) and David Cassidy. I used to watch the Cassidy family show too. Brilliant!
Lots going on at school. Spoke to my teacher today, as she is fully aware of how this woman works, and is disgusted by it, but of course, only happens with TA's and children. Teacher thinks we should all get together, and speak to the Head. He has been informed of some things, so not sure what is being done (if anything) Everyone on pins at the moment, not knowing what on earth can be done, how it will be done etc. Thankgod, we finish next week.
Louise, you'll have to move to escape the snow, we had little flurries this morning, and hopefully, it'll stay little flurries
We have had LOADS of snow here today and more forcast overnight. I did get out to the shops this evening (as the roads were Ok, and also I have a waterproof cover for the car windscreen so that helps)
Starsky and Hutch....I remember that Starsky was also in Fiddler on the Roof haha. I didn't like Hutch when he became a singer! Does anyone remember the cowboy series Alias Smith and Jones?
Good luck for the planting tomorrow, sparkling. Hope the concert goes well PQ and hope your boys stay warm, Kiera, you can have a lovely girly weekend and your little one might get some serious potty training practice in the peace and quiet.
Hazeleyes may I please stick my nose in about the school stuff? What I was going to say was whilst I would ALWAYS encourage you to be assertive, I would be inclined to let someone else be the spokesperson on this one, simply because you already have had to put complaints in progress re the boy who has bullied C and I was thinking that it might be diplomatic to let someone else do the talking on this one. Sorry if you think I am speaking out of turn
Hope everyone has a nice evening
You never speak out of turn Louise. I wouldn't have been the spokesperson, blimey, I'm not that brave hehe. I'm actually trying to avoid anything really, simply because of keeping my job. Might sound as if I'm copping out, but there are plenty of staff that have been in already. I realise the more there are complaining, the better the case, but still. Thankyou for the advice though Louise, always appreciated
Alias Smith and Jones - Pete Duel and Ben Murphy. I had their poster on my wall too, and was devastated when Pete Duel died...
I got in from work at 5pm, and not long after my neighbour phoned to say she wasn't feeling too well.
She has COPD(?) I think, and she was very short of breath. I got my key, went round and calledd an ambulance. She couldn't speak.
Anyhow, she's been taken into hospital. I phoned her family (she has a grown up son) who lives away to let them know, so they'll be over tomorrow.
So strange seeing the ambulance drive away, especially so soon after losing the neighbour the other side of me.
Hopefully she'll be fine and home quickly.
hi everyone well woke up loads snow, cant believ it really, last march it was sunny i remember, nohangin washin out this weekend lol. x
Yes, it was 16 degrees this time last year I was moaning about this to my most optimistic friend yesterday and they said well Louise, the Battle of Towton was won by the Yorkists due to a blinding snowstorm on Palm Sunday 1461. Yeah...thanks for that, friend we have pretty deep snow here, my other friend has texted and said she has skidded in the snow and her car is stuck.
Oh sparkling how sad about your neighbour, glad you were there to help and hopefully she will be more comfortable in hospital, let us know the news.
Have you heard from the boys, kiera?
Hazleyes, glad that you are Ok with what I said, and that you had already thought of this anyway!
Ladies, could we put Pete Duel in our crazy crushes section?
The schools and colleges in this area are now finished for Easter.
I've not heard any news about my neighbour yet.
About to take eldest into work (hopefully engine being sorted next weekend in his car), and will pop into work to see if I can get my head around the new PAYE system.
Very cold here.
MiL has snow! We don't. She's about 9 miles away...
hi yes they went swimmin yesterday, goin swimmin again today, theres a water park as well, they went in club at night x
Hope your neighbour is okay Sparkling. My Mum had COPD, and it's an absolutely awful disease. Fighting for breath is the pits.
Have started my thorough cleaning, plus the normal washing weekend stuff. I had a fantastic sleep, asleep by 10, awake at 5, watched tv until 6ish, then back to sleep until nearly 10! I was feeling so refreshed, but now I'm flaking again hehe. Neighbour has asked to borrow something, so I'll have to pop over there later. Don't normally venture out on a Saturday unless it's necessary, especially when it is so cold, but doughnut me forgot the milk yesterday. Could always send C to get it, but now with the neighbour, we'll both go. Tiny bit of snow, not much to speak of.
Hope you're able to stay indoors today Louise. If not, drive carefully.
Hi All,
hope everyone is fine - not got time to catch up properly... :-(
Essay got finished with 2 1/2 hours to spare. :-) On to the next one....
Well done Hopeful, and good luck with the next essay. Hope you're giving yourself a break in between though
Decided am not going to neighbours. C has kindly offered to go for the milk, and to drop something into neighbour. What a great lad I have. I'm absolutely frozen and the heating is on.
Well done Hopeful!
Hazeleyes I have not stirred outside today, that is why I went to the shops yesterday evening when I saw the horrendous forecast. It has finally stopped snowing and a teeny bit has melted. Still about 6 inches deep though. You had an excellent sleep, probably well overdue after the bad nights with the kitten.
Sparkling, hope you are sorted with your PAYE
Hello all,
We have returned from manchester and a great night with Olly Murs, I can say that because we actually got to touch him!! Not in the pervy way lol, he ran right past us and put his hand out so we slapped hands with him. H wasn't feeling well so we ended up leaving before it was over, but it meant we got a taxi straight away. Unfortunately we have been home only a few hours and the girls have started. I hurt my thumb yesterday packing the car up and was worried I may have broken something as it had trebled in size this morning, I've had it checked out and its just sprained but I am having to ware a splint. I asked the girls to help me with the dinner but neither wanted to and both got sulky when I pressed them so they took their issues out on each other and the name calling and kicking have returned.
The snow is falling and has settled a bit but not too bad, can still get about.
Glad you have caught up your sleep hazeleyes.
Hope your neighbour is ok sparkling.
Good job with the essay hopeful, a whole 2 1/2 to spare, I bet you could have banged the other one out in that time!!
Keep warm everyone x
hi aw glad u loved olly murs, aw wish i wud of touched him, i wudnt of washed my hands lolx how was the hotelx
The night out sounds great Pq, and you got to touch Olly, in a pervy way I'm sure Sorry to hear you've hurt your thumb, and the girls are back to bickering. Can you do the money thing again do you think? Stop 50p a day or something if they should argue, or is that too harsh? I do hope it settles down for you. They could just be tired? How is H feeling now after feeling unwell last night?
Glad you didn't have to venture out Louise. Hope the dreaded white stuff clears for you soon.
Had a lovely day, despite not doing much. C has done his homework, so all good there (no battle for tomorrow, well, me moaning I should say, lol)
Hope everyone has a good evening, keep warm all.
Good evening.
Had loads of snow here so been stuck inside all day, have a very sparkly house though. Ex fortunately has a four by four so still came to pick J up.
Sorry to hear about the cat Hazeleyes. J wants a puppy at the minute at niece has just had a Chihuahua for her birthday. He is only seven weeks old and is absolutely gorgeous, I could put him in my pocket and bring him home. I've tried to explain that they are expensive and a lot of hard work and that its not fair because we work all day, but I'm a bad mummy at the minute.
Pq I went to see Olly at Nottingham in Feb. Friend bought me ticket for Christmas, but he's not someone I would have chosen to go and see. He did a good show and I had a good sing along and a dance. I'm off to see We Will Rock You next Saturday, which was another Christmas present. Think people are trying to get me out of the house! We are staying over and making a night of it.
Hello to everyone else.
J goes to his dads on Friday and doesn't come home until the following Sunday, gulp. A whole nine days without him. I have to admit though that I am ready for a break. His sleeping has not been great at the minute so I am a very tired mummy and his behaviour has been less than great. I've been snapping at him a lot over silly things, so I think the break will do us both good. He is looking forward to going, but has said he will miss me an enormous lot. I've had to promise to spray his teddy with my perfume so it will smell like me when he goes. He doesn't like the cheap every day stuff though, he likes the special occasion stuff.
im off to find some rubbish on the tv. Had a nap this afternoon so am not at all sleepy yet. Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend.
Hi Looby, I took my dad to see we will rock you, it was such a fab show, I'm sure you will love it. Lucky you to get such lovely xmas presents 9 days is a long time to be without your son, have you got anyhting planned.
I'm glad you had a good time pq.
My MiL phoned this morning to say she had snow, and I could see it as I drove eldest to work. None this side of the island though. Children are not impressed.
I went to work and did a bit of booking in and Sage. Didn't look at the PAYE. Maybe tomorrow. I stayed while son was at work, so might do the same tomorrow. Lots more catching up to do with sage... Hate it!!
I've been to a concert at the school, and it really was brilliant. Youngest came with me, which was lovely, and he enjoyed it too. His friend and his Mum (my friend) was there too, so good company.
PQ, I'm sorry they're bickering.
Well done on getting the essay done Hopeful.
Glad you were able to keep warm hazeleyes - handy when these children can do things :-))
I hope you've been building snowmen Louise and looby!
Keep warm and safe.
Morning all,
The bickering has settled again. Will need to come up with more challenges, perhaps revisit the pocket money situation.
My thumb is causing me more problems than I imagined, you don't realise how much you use it until you can't any more. Will need to crack the whip today and get the girls helping out more!
Still snowing here. Was going to go out later but will see how the weather pans out! Got a friend coming round later for coffee as I've said I'll help her with a presentation she has to do for a job interview.
Good morning everyone, well it is still deep snow out there but the sun is out and I am hoping some will melt, the main roads are fine but I live on a little estate. Seen pictures on the local news of the countryside around here, drifts up to 20 feet!!!!
PQ your concert sounds great. Are you sure Olly didn't hurt your thumb? (heh heh) Seriously yes you do need to rest it and the girls DO need to do jobs for you. Can you wear an over-large bandage on it like Tom and Jerry to emphasise the point. Good luck with thinking of the next scheme for the pocket money motivator.
Sparkling glad you enjoyed your evening out. There will be time enough for the PAYE I suppose....
Looby you have some sleeping time lined up! Try to have some nice treats while J is away. J obviously has good taste with perfumery, that bodes well for future Mother's Days heh heh. My eldest always has good taste like that.
Hazeleyes all the homework done! hurray, it makes Sunday more relaxing doesn't it? What are you cooking today? I have some fish in herby crumb for later, haven't even had brekky yet!
My eldest got his first wage packet from thie new job so has got himself some work clothes and sent me a pic of them yesterday. He is coming next Saturday for a few days. Youngest was out on the town last night as usual. He has been doing the order picking at Asda this week, I said I bet some people get weird things don't they?He said yes, someone the other day got DRIED LENTILS. I said but we buy those and I use them in soups and stews, he said yes but I didn't realise they looked like THAT!
Hello to everyone else, kiera, Hopeful, happy mamma hope you are ok
I have a splint to wear which makes it less painful, the gilrs have been little angels so far
Long may it last Pq. If it makes you feel any better, C and I had a huge blowup last night. Not nice at all. Sent him to his bedroom, and there he stayed, no TV, just a book to read. Despite him shouting out 'sorry' I wouldn't budge!
Louise, your dinner sounds tasty, though I'm not a lover of fish really. We're having same old thing, sausages, but at least I know C will eat that.
Looby, I put perfume on a teddy of C's when he went away. I also put notes in his case, with the days of the week on, so he could read something from me every morning. He loved them, and has kept them all.
Sparkling, glad you enjoyed the concert last night. Nice to get out of the house too isn't it? Hope your lot have a lovely start to their holidays. I'm so jealous here! Four more days for us.
Only me and the seventeen year old here. I dropped daughter off at her friend's, but she fell running up to the car. She may be 19, but I have always hated it when they fall. She was ok - hole in her new jeans mind...
So dropped her off and parked up by the beach. Mistake.
There are days - and I do know how blessed I am to have me children, and we can have such good fun - but such a big part of me died with my Dad. I was such a Daddy's girl. We were always out and about, and when he couldn't drive (he had epilepsy) I would drive him to where ever he wanted to go... He died and it gave my Mum and I a chance. We had five years before she died. That day the rest of me died.
When my best fried died, I wasn't even surprised, as I feel that at that stage, things that were happening were the ultimate extreme. And the extreme that would hurt the most
I feel I function. I've been at work again today while oldest was at work, and am pleased with what I've got done.
I think my daughter falling set it off. I struggled at the car and hobbled up to her, not even to help her up (she did get up quickly...)
Just some days I do feel so alone.
Good evening everyone
Awww sparkling, I do understand when an incident (your daughter falling) triggers off a big chain of events. People who have not suffered a major bereavement don't realise. One thing that helps console me is thinking that I carry my Mum with me in my heart, of course that does not stop the pain, only today I was thinking IF ONLY I could just have a chat with her, just 20 minutes. So you have my thoughts coming to you this evening. Your mum and dad and Jill are watching over you and we are always here for you.
Hazeleyes sorry you had a bust up, it happens, you did well to be firm, he will know you mean what you say next time. Hopefully it cleared the air. I love sausages, been trying out different types from the local butcher (who has a sign up ouside saying Local Yorkshire Beef. No Bull, No Horse )
Glad the girls have helped you, PQ.
I have been having some very silly dreams lately, last night I was dreaming about having tea with youngest and he started throwing olives at me and the other night my dream featured French and Saunders! who needs telly?
Some snow still here but a bit has melted, pictures on the news of the Isle of Arran where there are drifts up to roof level, horrendous. And very sorry for the farmers who are starting the lambing season.
Stay warm everyone
Awww Sparkling, Louise is right, you're not alone and you will always have us (can't get rid of us that easily) Again, as Louise says, our loved ones will always be in our hearts, and we also have great memories that will never leave us
Louise, hope you're okay too I still talk to my mum out loud, when I'm having a rough time, or just in need of someone to talk too.
I did like your butcher's sign, made me giggle. With your dreams, you definately don't need TV hehe. Are you watching Corrie? Poor Jason, and Kirsty is cracking!!
Attitude kicked off again earlier, don't even know why it sparked off. Anyhow, I had said this morning that I would give C a game on the playstation, but after the attitude that was given, I said a definate NO and stuck to it (did feel guilty though) C thinks a sorry is all it takes, and then I give in, but I've started not to fall for the sorrys, especially when there's a reason behind it. All harmony here again, ignored, ignored, ignored, oh and lots of deep breaths.
Yes, it is sad, but I have called the RSPCA, and they will take her back. I've just got to make arrangements, and then ring them again. I would never have gone into this, had I thought it would affect my breathing so badly.
