Hi it seems that the October chit chat section has completely disappeared! No idea what has happened, will see if it can be looked into. In the meantime, here is another one!
How is everyone today? I went to counselling yesterday and also was discussing the Parents of Teenagers group, they are supposed to be marketing it, I was quite surprised that they had not thought of the local paper, the local radio station, putting posters up in shops and Post Offices and circulating to doctors' surgeries (seems pretty obvious to me)
What is everyone up to? I am off to see Anna Karenina at the cinema tonight.

Hope you get on Ok at the orthodontist. One tip that the dentist gave me was to get youngest to use a drinking straw. You cannot believe the amount of discarded straws that now litter the house!
Hi all. C's appointment yesterday at Drs. The murmur is still there, and again the GP announced his surprise that no one has ever mentioned this to me!! C has been referred to the top heart hospital in England, Harefield. He goes next Tuesday morning, so again, have to say am in shock really. C asked the GP questions, when he was told he'd have certain tests. The first one top of list, 'is it going to hurt?' Could have cried for him, he looked so vulnerable, and scared. We've had a chat, and he seemed okay this morning on way to school.

Youngest does use drinking straws, and yes, they're all over the place here too - but one of the cats loves playing with them 
Thunder storms and even more torrential rain today. I didn't think I'd get a soaking so soon - there was a cloud burst yesterday as I went to the car for Beavers. Cloud burst today as I went to get son from college. The storm followed me to college - and son was able to leap into the car between a flash and the rumble... And the cloud burst happened as we drove home.
Interesting weather.

Hazeleyes, glad that they are taking prompt action about C, I guess you were hoping to go along and them to say oh it was all a mistake and your stomach lurches when they don't. How are you coping with it all?

Hello PQ, glad you feel so positive after the study day
Anna Karenina, not a standard costume drama as expected. It was set as if on a stage, then a giant door would open at the back of the stage and they would be outside in a snowy field....or they would go upstairs in their house and it would cut to them coming up the stairs to the bit above a threatre stage where all the ropes are for pulling up the scenery etc. This made it difficult to engage with the characters at first but I still enjoyed it. Book club tonight then a music night put on by church.
Anna Karenina sounds complicated Louise, but glad you still enjoyed it. Enjoy the book club and the music night. Is that straight after the book club, or on a different night?
With regards to how I'm feeling, it's a bit wierd really. When C is not here, I'm worried about how he is, even though I know he's fine. When he is with me, I'm more relaxed. Very odd I know!! This week is flying by, so Tuesday will be here pretty soon. I'm really hoping after the initial examination, if C needs tests, they'll be able to do them there and then. C does make me laugh though, can't remember what I was saying to him yesterday, but his answer was 'but I have a heart murmur'. I laughed and told him as it wasn't an illness, I wasn't backing down. He does have lots of questions, and he knows that I will answer as honestly and as clearly as I can, but he also knows we really will have to wait until Tuesday.

Hazeleyes, I used to have a heart murmur when I was younger. I couldn't remember it having any effect on me so I phoned my dad, who said that I just had to go for check ups at the hospital and I eventually grew out of it. It never had any health implications. I hope C's turns out to be as simple.
I am still living in a pig sty. J has been poorly with a cold. I've picked him up from school and all he's wanted to do is snuggle, so I've not really got anything done. He did perk up earlier though when he realised it is finally my birthday tomorrow so he will have cards and presents to open!

Hazeleyes yes we are all hoping that C has a good result, as I said before, a significant percentage of children have one. I totally understand what you say about your feelings..I guess while you are with him not only can you see he is OK but also you are being the strong mummy in case he has any questions., whereas when he is away from you, it gives you headspace to worry.
I went to bookclub but not music night as my friend's babysitter cancelled, I was quite glad as was tried, too much gadding about

I should be going out tonight, as one of the Mum's (a single parent) felt sorry for me last week. I have to fit in my going out with whizzing daughter around as she's off out too for her friend's birthday.

Hi. Just a quick one to say thanks for the birthday wishes. I've had a lovely day, been very spoilt by friends. Had a gorgeous bouquet delivered to work, got wine and chocolates and taken out for tea. Got to open my cards at work, J did the rest. To be honest, I get more pleasure out of watching him enjoy opening them!
Wish me luck for the morning, have to face ex for the first time since his holiday. J already stressing that he doesn't want to go :-(

Hi louise, I had a gathering of girlfriends at mine last night (my girls had a sleep over with their grandma) lots of cackling went on 
. One of my friends stayed over and we ended up chatting til quite late, so a bit bleary eyed today! Really enjoyed getting up and having a 'grown up' morning.
Glad you had a good birthday Looby, sounds like you enjoyed yourself. I like Louise's advise about your ex and his teenage behaviour, I try and keep that in mind when dealing with my ex and it really helps.

I hope you are all ok. I have had a ok week. Three terrible night of getting Os to sleep and two not so bad. I am having a rest at the mo as he has gone to his dads today and I am here to chat. What are people up to this weekend? I am hopefully going to get my nose pierced today, only time number 5. But losing the last one was not strictly my fault! :/
