Hahha well Sparkling, not as many as I'd like or should be...but it's a start..
Well Louise, today I did: Shredding, laminating, and filing...the time went quickly and I'm back there next Wednesday....
Thatta girl Mich! List ticking is sooo therapeutic.
How was the voluntary work? What were you doing? Are you going to like it there?
Hi Mich
Ah but did you enjoy it? Sometimes the benefit of voluntray work is meeting new people rather than the job itself, do you think this is the case with this one?
hi mich hope things are still well with you glad you are enjoying your voluntray work xx
Hello everyone...another update for you:
Well at the moment have the lurgy...bad throat and head cold, so dosed up on Day and Night Nurse.
I hope you are all well, and managing to get on with all the things you need to.
But the big news, my lovely partner has proposed to me, so we are now engaged.I do of course have to still sort out the divorce. It is at the Nisi stage, so just waiting for that to come back to me so then I think I have to go to court to sign it.
Also, there will be another update on 'Lorraine' on the 19th July, so if you fancy watching it will be 'live' that morning, or you can record it later...
There is also going to be an article in Womans' Own....not sure when this is coming out though..
Hugs to you all xxxx
Wow, look at you Mich! You have come so far! I do hope you remember us in any interviews that you do, as hopefully we played a part in supporting you through
Congratulations on your engagement! How exciting, do you have a date??
Well I am sorry you are poorly but all the other news sounds like something out of Hello magazine
Congratulations on your engagement and I will look forward to seeing you on telly again. How is your daughter doing?
Thanks Anna and Louise...
Well, as I still have my divorce to sort out, we are thinking 7th June 2014 ( as it's the nearest weekend date to the 9th June when he proposed)...so plenty of time to get things sorted and spread the costs...I did mention One Space as a site for support...but I don't know what they will include in the finished article...
My daughter is doing really well Louise, thanks...she is very happy for me and loves my partner too...
I suppose it just goes to show that you never know what is round the corner....after years of being very measured and trying to make the right choices and do the right things...I am now learning to take giant leaps of faith and be out of my comfort zone...and grab any opportunities that come my way. :)
morning mich that is fab news im so happy for you that things have worked out xx yes you are right you never know what is round the corner x
Thanks so much shaz....
Oh Mich this all sounds very exciting, congratulations on the engagement, are you feeling any better today? and i will of course be looking out for you on the telly!!
Thanks Sally W.....Still have a bit of a cough, but MUCH better thanks...Off to do my volunteering work today...
They still don't know what is happening with the Lorraine show, but it will be her last for the Summer and they're hoping to be able to book a big celeb, so not sure how that'll effect our section....everything is very last minute withy TV, as things change so much...Also the Womans' Own article will be out the 22nd I think( or about that time)...
Hugs to everyone...xx
just reading your news - missed it at the time - was probably wallowing in self pity
Congratulations!
Well, been a long time but another update:
I am now divorced, have moved home, and changed my name to my partner's by Deed Poll.
Just to give hope to all those feeling lost at the moment, to say that things will get better for you.
I hope all those I see here have been able to move on and are in a good place now.
Hello Mich, it is so fab to hear that things are working out for you and I expect when you look back to when you first posted here, you can hardly recognise yourself as the same person
You're right, it does give hope to people that are going through stuff at the moment. How is your daughter?
Yes, you're so right Louise...
She's fine. She's just finished her G.C.S.E. and got seven A* to C's. So now she's taking English,History,Law, and Theatre studies as her A levels. She sorts out with her Father when she sees him and stays with him, so I don't even have to have anything to do with him now.
That's great that she is doing so well and hopefully she can maintain a steady relationship with her dad.
Hope things are happier for you with a new partner, and he appreciates just how fab you are! Has he got any children of his own?
Hi Mich, nice to see you! So pleased to read that you are in a better place
Thank so much Anna,( and Happy Birthday..I know it's soon, or just gone?)
Yes, he's lovely Louise, and yes he has a son in the same year at college as my daughter but a year younger. It's so funny because he doesn't say a lot but my daughter makes up for the both of them. He lives in Eastbourne with his Mother, but stays over when he has time ( you know teenagers and their social lives)....and is happy for us both...
We are looking forward to Christmas because we will have them both with us for Christmas day, so it will be lovely.
That sounds like a very special Christmas, Mich.
It's great when we see people we have supported go on to build a new life. In your case, you have met a new partner but there are many ways to move forward after such a bad time-such as feeling empowered, developing your career, discovering a new interest or loving your freedom......and finding your own happiness (whatever that may involve) is the key thing
Oh my, haven't been on here in a while. Hope everyone is ok?
Things are still jogging along nicely, ( in other words life is happening but without any main dramas).
I've been in my new house for just over a year now, and just want to mention how important it is to focus on the future ( well here and now mainly, as I don't look too far ahead now), but on the future when you have got over the entanglement of old emotions shall I say?
Hi mich, it is really good to hear from you, glad that life is going along nicely, how is your daughter doing with her A levels? what about your fella, how is that? you still doing the volunteering?
Hi sally,
Well she's just finished them and has some time off before she gets her results in August.
My fella is still fine too, just got some work issues at the moment, so hopefully they will get sorted out soon.
I'm not doing my volunteering any more because I laft where I was working and joined an Agency, and work is sporadic so I have to be ready last minute to work if a job comes through, and so I couldn't commit to particular days, and it was only mainly filing I was doing at the new place, and didn't get a chance to learn more admin skills...
How're things with you sally?
Sounds like the agency work keeps you on your toes mich! Will your daughter do another year of A levels or is this her last year?
My son is doing A levels, he just sat his A2's has another year to go! Currently trying to get him to find a job doing a few hours a week somewhere. My girls are doing good too, though two of them are having a growth spurt, P has grown two shoe sizes in six months. As for myself i am doing o.k i started an exercise class awhile back, which has given me more energy
hi mich thats fab news about the wedding really pleased for you x
That sounds like a lot of things ticked off
