Hello Sadsy

So just as expected really, but still nerve-racking in the meantime. At least you have now met the CAFCASS guy :) Have a good time with the kids and let off some steam......

(whispers...)Hi Sparkling, I don't think it's anagrams, but I might be wrong with what I think....

Hi Sadsy
Re 'your little Arwen getting into bed with you'
My little girl has slept with me everynight since her daddy left. She used to near enough strangle me but over time has gradually moved away although will still hold my hand. I guess this is what she needs at the moment and maybe what I need too. Being a mum a second time around makes you realise what is important and what isn't. Whos decide whats 'right' anyway so if you don't mind it doesn't matter!! In other cultures babies sleep with their parents from birth until they gradually move away of their own accord. baby animals also do the same, its only our culture which imposes a 'correct' way of doing things.

Sadsy..

Both my kids sleep with me, we don't actual have a bed at the moment, I threw it out (it was just a mattress on the floor as I don't like beds) as my daughter had failed to make it to the toilet a few too many times and as it started to get hotter a few months back it started to smell a bit. We are waiting on a bed from my sisters, every time she decorates or changes something we get the unwanted stuff : ) In the mean time I make a sort of bed out of various cushions and we have two double quilts that we just sort of get under. I have to be in the middle or there is inevitably arguments and I have to lie on my back with both arms out as they both insist on using them as pillows, at least until they go to sleep....

We all go to bed at the same time.. I gave up structured bed times a while ago : )

hello,
caffcass guy was curious why Louise not show up.

I think there will be a repeat of the directions meeting at Romford next.
I'm tired from children, they talk at once. Will miss them terribly when they are gone on Monday.
This is the longest contact all year I guess.

Expecting a dip in mood. I must be ready for it.

Where is Pansy? I not heard from her in ages? Hope she ok!

Hello Bubblegum that sounds very comfy (although not neccesarily to your arms, ) Bedtime/bedplace are just down to personal choice, as mousie says. When children feel they want to be close (such as just after a separation) then it seems to help, it is only a problem if the parent feels it is a problem. You say you don't like beds very much; when you get the one your sister has finished with will you just have the mattress again?

Mousie, it is lovely that your little girl feels safe and loved

Hi Sadsy, It is wonderful to have time with the children and, sadly, the price for that is what it may feel like when they go back to their mum :( . All the time and effort you are putting in right now is building your relationship with them even more. Do you remember that one of the things you were worried about was that Arwen would forget you and we reassured you she wouldn't? well, this week is a really big step in the memories you are building with her. Re the constipation (sublime to ridiculous? :o ) make sure she drinks plenty of juice and water

My friend left today. Took youngest to say goodbye and he broke his heart.

I think when this lot grow up I may leave... Everyone else seems to.

As Louise says Sy, lots of water and juice...

Enjoy your time with them.

I think my computer is going to pack up. I type and it's seconds later before it shows on the screen. That is an 'oh dear'.

You said on the other thread how busy you had been this week, not just with Scouts but all the dentist and hairdresser stuff. It is always the way with the last bit of the school holidays isn't it? My boy looks like an upside-down dish mop and is going to be sent to the barber's as soon as possible!

sooo tired.
Pharmacy closed for lunch. I have to get them detached from their DS and headphones. Pull away from TV. Put horrid sandals Louise bought onto swinging legs and wriggling toes. Hard to get them out of house. Feeling feeble. How do you all do it? I haven't lasted a week.

Got interview for head of the world Tuesday. No chance of getting it. Will be good to meet the people though.

Might have snooze.

It's more or less a futon, as they are no longer in vogue that's why I'm getting it : ) so its kinda sort of low to the ground and hard anyway which is why I usually just have a mattress on the floor.

Hi everyone
A little over a week left of the holidays, and like many of you I'm sure, am hating the fact of my son going back to school. I love his company, even though I moan from time to time. He will be going into year 2, (I can't believe how time flies).
Tried new uniform and shoes on, and boy oh boy, he looks so grown up. I treasure the time with him, because the years go past so fast. I wish my mum was here to see him. She died when he was 2 and a half. I was her carer as well as a single mum, and I wouldn't have changed a thing. We had lots of laughs as well as tears, and I miss her so much.
Rambling again, sorry folks. My son is getting Ben 10 posters sorted and sticking them on his wall, (more wallpaper off). :o He wants things in place for birthday next Saturday.
Take care all :P

Hello sparkling

I know you still miss your mum and it must be very hard when you reach those milestones (such as your son' s exam results) without her.; One thing that has come of your sadness about your Mum is, I think, your determination to really enjoy motherhood yourself and to be a good mum to your four :) Good for you!

All you can do is say what a wonderful time you've had with them and how much you'll be looking forward to seeing them in 12 days time.

I'm so sorry I missed you.

Thinking of you, Luke and Arwen.

And you were worried about the week....

Hey there Sparkling!
children gone. Am filling house with music to take away silence.
I couldn't have put any more into the week. Was so exhausted. Taught Luke to boogie board surf, was fun in the sea, water warm this time of year on south coast. I learnt at his age 10 when we went to somewhere in Wales, Maenchlecog (or similar). Surfed until chest went raw from sand, water so clear, and we saw a shark too! Memory etched in sunbright clarity for all my life. I'll take him some day to better surf spot. Luke really enjoy it, apart from facing wrong way much of the time - LOL.

I have interview tomorrow in Central London. Don't know what it's for or where it is, LOL. (Can you tell I've taken tablet!).

Had hair cut and and bought shirt in sale for tomorrow. Not wearing a tie, as is creative position. Hope they going to be OK with it.

Can't get used to being unemployed. No money will be a shock. Clock has started ticking now. Tuesday is interview, Wednesday is mortgage call to arrange appointment. Looking for payment break.

Well,
it's interview day today. Be leaving in a couple of hours.
It will be a disaster, but I will learn some things.

Prepared to make lots of embarrassing mistakes. Expecting hardest person to be head of business development. HR rep may ask about difficult situations overcome. Business rep will be looking to see if I can work with him I guess. Gulp.

I have not prepared my questions yet or cleaned my shoes.

Hmmmm, another half hour in bed....maybe. Must not forget tablet. Have changed to mornings now, see if helps or not.

Wish me luck.

Hi all, just finished reading this post! I had a great holiday thanks sparklinglime, I went to Wales, to Pendine Sands, it was cloudy and rainy, but hey, it was a week away in a caravan!!

Pansy it was great to read that your friends recognised that you seemed more laid back and that the kids were paying you more attention. That is a great achievement and brilliant that it has been pointed out so you can see it for you self. Big clap on the back for you!

Sparklinglime, PLEASE will you put some of your favourite photos on the Family Quilt?? It is a place for us to share our families, here is the link, in case you can't find it: http://interactive.onespace.org.uk/quilt/. This goes for you too sadsy, puulease keep it looking interesting!

I've just been thinking about son going back to school. (I can't win), During the hols, when driving me mad, I would wish that someone would offer to take him out for few hours, and thinking how lucky so many mothers are to have partners who can take the kids for a few hours. Now i'm dreading school starting, as i'll miss him soooo much. No pleasing me really eh, hehe.
Hope leg ok, not really sure what happened to make it lock, but wish you well all the same.
